Friday's Free NBA Pick is on the Minnesota Timberwolves as a 3-point home favorite against the Los Angeles Clippers. Usually I like to back teams like the Clippers after a horrible showing like they had in last night's 91-122 loss at Denver. However, that's now 4 straight losses for LA and who knows who is going to sit in the second of a back-to-back. Even with how little minutes the starters played, I could see the Clippers resting guys, most notably Kawhi. You also got a Timberwolves team that is playing with some confidence after back-to-back impressive wins at home against the Nuggets (124-111) and Blazers (113-106). I like Minnesota to stay hot. Bet the Timberwolves -3!

We'll fade the Ducks off a rare victory over the Stars two nights ago. San Jose has been idle since posting a rare win of its own last Sunday - that coming by a score of 5-2 in Chicago. Here, we'll note that the Sharks took the most recent meeting between these two teams by a 6-1 score and that's worth mentioning as Anaheim is a woeful 1-19 when seeking revenge for a home loss by three goals or more against an opponent over the last three seasons, outscored by an average margin of 1.8 goals in that situation. Meanwhile, San Jose is a long-term 137-116 (+264.6 net games) when playing on the road after losing four or five of their last six contests, as is the case here. Take San Jose.

Tip-off is at 10:40pm ET tonight as the Atlanta Hawks 18-20 (15-23 ATS 7-12 on the road) take on the Los Angeles Lakers 17-21 (16-21-1 ATS 9-8 at home) in NBA hoops action. The Lakers opened as a -1pt favorite, they are now +2.5pt dogs. The Over/Under opened at 231.5 it is now a jaw-dropping 242.5 (yes an 11pt swing).
Capela is out for Atlanta, Davis & Reaves are out for the Lakers. Obviously we all know LA hasn't lost a game since they took down Atlanta a week ago, so this game has a "revenge" factor to it. I've got this game finishing close, and have the Hawks winning by 5.
Lakers are 21-43-1 ATS in their last 65 games following a straight up win, and are 6-3 ATS in their last 9 games against an opponent in the Pacific Division division.
