Atlanta has to be sick and tired of playing on the road right now. This will be the Hawks third straight road game after playing in Phoenix on Wednesday and Portland on Monday. I gave out Nevada +3 as a free pick on Tuesday in their 75-66 upset home win over the San Diego State Aztecs. But this has all the makings of a letdown spot for the Wolf Pack, not just because of that win but also the magnitude of the games preceding it, plus who they have on deck.
Nevada's last six games have been a gauntlet of San Diego State, Utah State, Boise State, New Mexico, UNLV and San Diego State again. They have traded wins and losses following up each win with a loss, and each loss with a win. I wouldn't be surprised to see them actually lose this game outright. They have another huge game at New Mexico on deck after this one that they could easily be looking ahead to.
Nevada won't be all that motivated to beat Air Force again after topping them 75-69 as 3-point road favorites in their first meeting on December 31st. Now they come back as 11-point home favorites for the rematch, which is an 8-point adjustment and too big of one for switching home courts.
Air Force has quietly gone 13-4 ATS in its last 17 games overall. The Falcons have done their best work on the highway during this stretch, going 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games. Air Force is 10-3 ATS in its last 13 games when revenging a loss. Bet Air Force Friday.
