1st race – (4) Doc Ballard (B) was fractious at the gate and still managed to lose by only a neck. Should make amends here. (3) Networking could be effective at this level off the class drop. (8) Heart Boy was second in his last two starts and belongs in the exotics. (9) Domi fits in nicely with this group. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4-8-9.

4th race – (5) Angelas Party Girl rallied wide for second and should work out a better trip in this spot. (7) Harlan’s Legacy is worth a look while switching to turf. (2) Artifact rallied for third last time but should be a factor at the end. (4) Cloud Storage could take a step forward off the Casse claim. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 5-7. Exactas: 5-7 over 2-4 and 2-4 over 5-7. Doubles: 2-4-5-7 with 2-3-4-5.

5th race – (3) Bach has a nice late kick and should benefit from some added distance. (4) Greg’s Honor was a nose behind the top pick and figures to be the main rival once again. (5) Capture Mi has some speed and could be a factor to the end in this field. (2) Bluto’s Candy may be a factor in the final furlong. Betting strategy: 3 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-4-5.

7th race – (5) Best Defense (C) was bet down from 3-1 to 2-1 and posted a front-running win. Can make it two in a row off the Maker claim. (8) No Name Dude returns to Tapeta and seems ready for a strong effort. (6) Marley Luck should also welcome a race back on Tapeta. (3) Loco Abarrio will be part of the early pace and could hang on. Betting strategy: 5 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-5-6-8.

9th race – (7) Masterofthesenate has been getting better with each start and seems ready for a winning effort today. (2) Street Vendor had a rough start when fourth and should be closer here. Picks Notes
#3 Talkscheap He's not a super reliable finisher, but he occasionally gets past a couple horses, and maybe he can manage to turn in a grinding one-paced effort in a spot where some pace and forward types might tire late.
#1 Fingers He debuts for a capable team, but he obviously doesn't have a lot of high hopes going first out at this level. Wouldn't be a surprise to see him land this, but he's probably an underlay.
#7 Giacometti He didn't show much in a couple starts in California, but he faced much better special weight company there and wouldn't be a surprise to stay better with this cheaper bunch while getting Lasix. I don't know...
Race Summary Talkscheap has a little bit of appeal while getting in light, and he has a couple of back running lines that would keep him in the mix here. Interesting at a mid-range price.

Turfway Park - Race #6

#2 Vivar I'm willing to take his local debut at face value and see if he can run back to that, as his form turned around on the new footing, and he has some class excuses for some of those dull running lines on his page.
#4 Legionnaire His better running lines would make him tough in here while making his local debut, and there are some pretty solid customers scattered in his company lines.
#6 Bloodline I'd want him on the multi-race tickets as he comes off the bench in an easier spot than he has seen in some time with a couple stakes tries on his page near the end of his early 2022 campaign. He makes a lot of sense here from a good spying spot.
Race Summary Vivar had faced a couple decent groups over the last year, and his form really turned around when he tried the surface here for the first time last out. The price gets shorter today, but a repeat of that probably does the trick.

Turfway Park - Race #8

#9 Swiss Franc She moved forward nicely when getting a route trip for the first time, and she looks pretty dangerous here from close range if she has even a small step in the right direction again today in this third start.
#7 Kate's Concerto She couldn't stay after tracking the pace in her route debut at Fair Grounds, but the filly who won that day has been back to land a sophomore stakes race, and there's nobody like that in here.
#8 Kiss It Goodbye I expected a bit better from her while getting around two turns last time out, but I wonder if she's capable of something more than that here, as she hinted at having at least a modest talent in the debut run. Price player.
Race Summary Swiss Franc seems pretty logical in a race where it seems like several of them have a claim on the top spot, but 'Franc should trip out from close range and may still have a little upside.

Can’t fault the recent form of a runner who is 34/9-8-5 at Penn National, good for $132k in earnings. Bet to win and place.

Race Summary RELISHMENT rallied wide on the turn but flattened out to finish third at one mile at Parx. But he finished behind Outrageous Bet (11-76, $487k) and 1-to-2 favorite Artistic Reason (28/4-5-8, $148k). He was no threat in this spot two back but is worth a win and place bet in his second start for this barn.
