Has to be given consideration versus this group displaying competitive figs as of late and an average speed rating of 81 under similar conditions. JOKER MATT - His 80 average has this colt with among the best speed figures in this race. The twosome of Marti/Brown has one of the strongest ROI percentages in this group. GALLANT OAK - Cruz ought to be able to get this gelding to break out early in here. With a respectable 78 Equibase Speed Figure last time out, will definitely be a factor in this race.

That race had a class figure of 85 and he is moving down right here. A certain win candidate. Birzer was aboard this gelding last time around the track and was impressed enough to take the equine right back. When this jockey and conditioner unite you have to take a look. Birzer and Ashford have been great together. This should be an easier task than what he was asked last time out against 'open' company. EARS TO ME - I like the hard fact that this gelding's last speed fig, 83, is tops in this field. BIG CITY BOY - The return on investment when Jordan and Hartman get together is outstanding. Look at this pattern of improvement. 52/60/79 are the last 3 speed figs. JUST OKIE - Really think this race horse is going to be close near the finish line.

PETTIGO GIRL - The rider and handler combination have a profitable ROI when they combine forces. After the contest aboard this equine on February 15th, the jock is going to be in touch with the mare much better. ROAD TEST - The morning line odds on this mare are higher than those of the other entrant from the shedrow of handler Smith. Often the longer-priced part of a 'split' entry wins. You always have to be on the prowl for money making jock/handler duos; we have it right here. Ran last race out against a high class rated field at Mahoning Valley Race Cour. The move down in the class scale should suit her well. ACT LIKE A LADY - Faced tougher in the last race at Mahoning Valley Race Cour. Based on Equibase class ratings, this is a weaker field, so I will put this horse on my list of contenders. The ROI when Tapara and Cline hook up is fantastic. Stretching a thoroughbred out to a route after two sprints is a classic conditioning move.

Will be tough for this horse to beat this field off of that last speed figure. Not probable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's Equibase class figure, so put her on the vulnerable competitors list. PRESCIENCE - Have to put a question mark next to the recent speed figure since it was obtained on the mud. STYLISH ASH - This less than sharp equine hasn't been close to the winner at the finish line lately. Not probable that the fig she earned on Dec 30th will hold up in this event.

I think PROOFSINTHEPUDDIN is a very strong choice. Has respectable Equibase Speed Figs and has to be considered for a bet for this event. Earned a decent speed figure last time out. She has formidable class ratings, averaging 90, and has to be carefully examined in this contest. TIGHT FITTIN JEANS - Respectable shot today on Lasix. This trainer has done solidly recently with entries travelling at this distance and surface. MARKING TIME - Looks formidable for the conditions of this contest today, showing solid figures in dirt sprint races recently. Should best this group of animals here, showing decent numbers of late.

#2 El Rosillo He's going to be a short price here after just missing in his first start with the locals, but his baseline effort would land a soft opener.
#3 Aly Stone He trailed throughout in the Turfway Park debut, but that came for three times this price, and maybe the cheaper spot with the locals gives him a chance to wake up.
#6 My Two Aunt Joans He was a good fit with similar in the two- and three-back tries, but he was no real threat for the winner in either of those and probably settles underneath again here.
Race Summary El Rosillo exits a fast race for the level, and I'm taking it at face value as it was in line with what he was offering in previous starts at Gulfstream. There are five others in here who have never come close to that, and he shouldn't even have to hold every bit of that form to drill these.

Mahoning Valley - Race #5
Picks Notes
#2 Debdurite He's got reliable form right now and is quick enough to find a good spot from the inside. He'll find a couple potential pace players drawn further out, so maybe he'll be able to work out a nice trip just tucked behind them.
#6 Geh Schnell His form has always been pretty hit or miss, so I'm willing to forgive him the dull try last time out, and he has the right kind of clunk-along-late running style that might give him a real chance to get past all of these in a spot with a few forward players. Interesting price player.
#3 Viski Jones He seems like a capable dropper despite the dull recent form, as this kind of basement conditioned spot is far easier than anything he has seen on his page. Tough call, but he wouldn't surprise.
Race Summary Debdurite's last two have been pretty sharp, and I think he has a big claim on this one from close range. Think it's also worth covering Geh Schnell at a price player with some bounce-back potential.

Mahoning Valley - Race #8
Picks Notes
#8 Mimi's Golden Ring I think she might be a little bit of a reach, but she's better than she showed last time out, and I wonder if she's got a chance to be in the attacking seat with her pace from the wide draw. Hoping she offers a mid-range price, hassles the other speed out of their game, and holds the chalk late.
#5 Honorifique The barn has been pinpoint here from limited starters, and she has been in with WAY better than she's going to see here. Anything approaching her best leaves the rest in a battle for second, but she's likely a short price off the layoff and hasn't won in exactly two years.
#4 Years Ago She's likely to be in the mix from the start again here, and it would be no shock to see her land this, but I worry that she tends to always be in the right spot and has had some trouble finishing those races off.
Race Summary Mimi's Golden Ring showed good pace to score a couple easy wins to start her career, and I like that the draw may give her the right kind of trip to prove best of the forward players -- from there it'd just be a question of what Honorifique is bringing to the table off the layoff. Look for her late.
