Al Cimaglia: Yonkers Raceway Late Pick 4 Analysis

Yonkers Raceway has a 12-race card which features the 1st leg of the Borgata Pacing Series. The $1.00 Late Pick 4 starts in Race 9, and the sequence will be my focus. There is also a video analysis posted on Twitter of tonight's Pick 5 that has a $10,000 guaranteed pool.

Comments and selections are based on a fast track.

Race 9

2-American Courage (7/2)-Comes off 3 qualifiers at Pocono between March 1-March 15 and it look like last year's Aria winner could fire hot off the bench.
4-Nandolo N (5/2)-Raced on 3-4 at M1 in a sharp 149.4 with a 27.3 last quarter to win after missing starts with double scratches. Draws well and should be ready for another big try.

Race 10

1-Ourrythmnblues N (5/2)-Fell short by a nose versus better in the slop and looks like a main player. Likes to race on the point, form has been sharp so best to respect.
2-Mongolian Hero N (9/2)-Seldom raced 10-year-old has been dropping hints and now lands in a more comfortable level to take a picture. There should be an honest pace and that won't hurt this veteran's chances.
3-Capitivate Hanover (3-1)-This Burke entry has been camera shy but comes off a big effort last week in the slop and has beaten this kind before. Gets post relief, Gingras sticks, and he could work a smooth journey.

Race 11

2-Long Weekend A (6-1)-Going to fade the 2 program chalks (3-7) and look for some value. This veteran makes its 1st start off a $50k claim for the Height barn. The same outfit beat the $40k claimers on 12-5 and then was claimed by Di Domenico that night. So, the same trainer claims back at a higher a tag and is worth a long look at what could be a nice price.
4-Delightful Terror (7-1)-Beaten chalk drops after a disappointing finish in the slop. Willing to excuse and could be overlooked at the windows. A dry surface would help, has not won on an off-track in 11 races.
5-Tin Roof Raider A (4-1)-Makes the 2nd start for Blumenfeld and Bartlett sticks. Comes off a nice try in the slop versus a 2/5 winner who draws post 7 tonight. Willing to take a swing and should a fair price.

Race 12

3-Buddy Hill (2-1)-Has been facing better and the post draw gods and haven't been very nice. Lands inside here and should be aggressively driven.
5-Twin B Heart Throb (7/2)-Drops after a big try at 39-1 to lose by a neck starting from post 7. Came the back half in 55.4 on a cold night and this looks like a spot to shine.
