FAU will be pulled into a lower-scoring game here. The Owls beat Memphis FAU in Round 1 (66-65), and Tennessee (62-55) in the Sweet 16, and I expect another defensive struggle. Although the Owls played higher scoring games against Fairleigh Dickinson and Kansas State, the game will not play out fast-paced and high scoring against San Diego State. I like the over (6.5) goals in this game, as I see both of these offenses cashing in consistently throughout this game. The Sabres are elite on the offensive end of the ice, as they are scoring the third most goals per game and they have the sixth highest PP-scoring percentage. Montreal is only holding their opponents to the 28th least amount of goals and shots, as they won’t be able to stop the Sabres in this game.

Buffalo has struggled defensively, though. They are allowing the 29th most goals and the 25th most shots. They have continued to struggle on the defensive end of the ice and they will allow the Canadiens to score just enough goals to push this total over the number. Pick the over (6.5) goals in this one and expect an offensive battle in this one.

I like the Devils ML in this one, as I believe they have the advantage on the offensive end of the ice. They are currently scoring the fifth most goals and they are taking the fifth most shots. The Islanders won’t be able to completely keep them out of their net, as I see them quickly falling behind.

I don’t see the Islanders scoring enough goals to win this game at home, as they are only averaging the 22nd most goals per game and they are taking the 19th most shots. They won’t create enough opportunities to score and the Devils will take advantage. New Jersey is also holding their opponents to the fifth least amount of goals per game and the fifth least amount of shots. They will keep the Islanders out of their goal and slowly pull away throughout this game. Pick the New Jersey Devils ML and trust them on the road.
Florida Panthers vs. Ottawa Senators Over 7

The Panthers are elite on the offensive end of the ice, but they’ve continued to struggle defensively. They will score throughout, but they will allow Ottawa to score enough goals to push this total over the number. Florida is currently averaging the sixth most goals per game and they are taking the most shots. The Senators are allowing the 19th most goals and the 23rd most shots, as they will struggle to slow down the Panthers in this game.

But, on the defensive end of the ice, the Panthers stink. They are allowing the 24th most goals per game and the 21st most shots. The Senators will have multiple opportunities to score and I trust them to cash in. The over is also (4-1) in the last five meetings in Ottawa and (6-2) in the last eight meetings overall.
