Gulfstream Park kicks off its racing week Wednesday with a bang. The Race 1 opener boasts a Super High 5 carryover of $76,381. Pick the top 5 finishers in the race to take down the wager and take advantage of boosted earnings from the carryover money. The base minimum for the Super High 5 is $1.

The 1-1/16 miles turf maiden claimer drew a field of 10. Post time will be 12:40 pm ET for the first of 8 races. If no one hits the Super High 5 in Race 1, it will carry over to Race 3, the next eligible race for the wager based on minimum field size.

Fair Grounds - Race #4

#1 Kislovodsk	He was behind a tough top pair in that special weight spot last out, and he'll get around two turns for the first time while getting back in with maiden claimers. Would want a fair price for the barn that's trying to avoid an 0-fer this season.
#3 Conrad the Red	He's back down to the level of the claim for this one, but he only went evenly in that route run last time out, and I wouldn't be thrilled to sign up for any kind of short price here.
#5 Chili Red	Think he has a claim on this one after an improved effort off the bench, and he looks competitive here if he has any move forward in him with that comeback run out of the way.
Race Summary	Kislovodsk has run into a few decent winners here this season, and he gets some class relief for this first route try. He's fast enough to be in the mix early on, and I'm hoping the cold connections leave the price playable today.

Fair Grounds - Race #7

#1 Shelli's Angel	She should be legged up off the route tries, and she might be the one to outfinish these if an early battle develops. Think she's interesting if they patiently save ground and launch one late run.
#11 Kyle Beauty	Tons of respect for what she has done through two starts, turning in a couple of impressive wins by a total of more than 15 lengths. She draws well to get the best of the other pace, but I do worry that there is a bit of other speed lined up that might make her work for it at a short price. Intrigued by her clear LA-bred talent, but I'll try to beat her here.
#5 Sweet Vidalia	She'll step up in pretty good form after catching a tough winner last time around, and she would definitely benefit if all the pace hooked up early. Along late at a decent price?
Race Summary	Shelli's Angel draws well to simply tuck back and wait in hopes a pace battle will brew on the front end, and she graduated at this trip here last season. Capable.

Fair Grounds - Race #9

#1 Uncle Jett	Debuter goes for a team that has done okay work with these types going short two-turn trips here, and I'm not sure this is the toughest spot even for this statebred level. Get a look at him on the track and tote, but I think he might be ready.
#12 Valid Early	He showed a bit better when dropping to this level for the first time, and he'll get around two turns for this one. Wonder if a more leisurely route tempo might give him a chance to show better?
#16 Shankinstine	He'd need plenty of help by way of scratches to get into this one, but his Delta form looks compelling enough in a local spot with a short stretch. Think this 14-start maiden has a real chance if he goes.
Race Summary	Uncle Jett debuts in a spot where I think you can make modest cases for a handful of them, but I'm not sure about landing anywhere in here with a ton of confidence. 'Jett's barn has done good work with similar the last few years here.

Race Summary	MOON WARRIOR ran his best race when he won at this distance to start his 4-year-old season, lacked room in deep stretch when third two starts back, then faltered badly at Parx last out. He projects an ideal trip in a speed-laden field and offers good value for a win and place bet.

EXPERIENCED - Running on the grass today, you should review a horse's class. This one has the top number in the bunch. Thomas drops him down to this class. You don't need too much more from the pp lines to think this horse should be one of the top contenders at this level. Gelding got a healthy rating last time he tried this distance. That number would be good enough to win today. The return on investment when Ortiz and Thomas team up is terrific. This horse wins a lot of cash per race around the track. Number one in this affair. AIRMAN - This beautiful animal should be rocking and rolling in the lane. BAILADOR - Nice return on investment for this jock and conditioner duet. Gelding's win percentage is better than 50 percent in first and second starts off a vacation. Past performance data show this thoroughbred with 3 improving speed ratings. Gaffalione should be on a horse ready to win right here. The most dangerous animal in racing is the lone speed horse. If they let him get away early they probably won't catch him.

QUEEN'S DREAM - The speed figure of 73 from her last contest looks formidable in here. Has run very well when running a dirt sprint race. KNICKERSINATWIST - Ought to come out sharp - I have liked the way this filly has moved sharply to the lead recently. Could best this group of animals based on the Equibase speed fig - 74 - of her last race.

I find it hard to bet on this pony today. Make him show you something in a sprint race before you wager on him in a race of 6 furlongs. PRIVATE DRIVE - Tough for anyone who saw this less than sharp equine in his last clash to bet on him this time around.

Gulfstream Park Race 5: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) Clm 50000n2L

#9 Bailador (8/1) – This 1st time gelding is working well off the bench for a 21% barn off layoffs. He also switches back to turf where he’s only tried once prior. His breeding screams that he wants to mow and he gets a rider upgrade to Gaffalione today. He looks to get a favorable trip up close or setting a slow pace.
Gulfstream Park Race 7: 6 Furlongs. F.S.OC 20000n1x

#3 Shes All Woman (4/1) – This mare made a strong wide move on the turn vs open company last time. Now 2nd off the layoff, dropping in class and shortening a furlong, she should beat this field.

#5 Brittiz (10/1) – She’s the longshot that interests the Ductor. She’s been close to the pace routing on turf and synthetic for 6 starts and they finally cut her back to a dirt sprint. Brittiz began her career with a 2nd and a win sprinting on the dirt. She’ll be finishing strong late and can inject value into this race.
Gulfstream Park Race 8: 1 1/16 Mile. (Turf) OClm 35000

*Gullet Shot of the Day #1 Shankar (4/1) – This gelding was impressive breaking his maiden in his first start on turf last time. He was bumped repeatedly going into the first turn and then traveled 3-wide and uncovered the entire way. You don’t see many horses win on turf with that type of trip. He gets a nice rail draw today and the Ductor will lean on him in a race that looks wide open on paper.
