Monday MLB Free play. My selection is on the 'under' between Cincinnati and Atlanta at 7:20 pm et on Monday.
Both of these teams are coming off 'over' results on Sunday. I expect a different story to unfold as they match up on Monday in Atlanta. Graham Ashcraft will take the ball for the Reds. He had a terrific Spring, posting a 2.60 ERA and 0.87 WHIP in 17 1/3 innings of work. Ashcraft picked up right where he left off in his regular season debut as he held the Pirates to just one earned run on four hits and no walks over seven innings. While he didn't exactly have a banner campaign in 2022, he held up reasonably well considering the majority of his starts came at the bandbox that is Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, posting a 4.21 FIP and 1.42 WHIP. Bryce Elder will counter for the Braves on Monday. He didn't have such a strong Spring but certainly looked sharp in a difficult first regular season outing on the road against the Cardinals, allowing just two hits and three walks over six shutout innings. Elder worked 54 big league innings last year and recorded a 3.78 FIP and 1.24 WHIP. Despite Atlanta's struggles against the Padres over the weekend, the Braves bullpen remains strong having logged a collective 2.90 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 40 1/3 innings pitched. The Reds 'pen hasn't been as sharp, posting a 5.10 ERA and 1.37 WHIP but will have the benefit of facing a depleted Braves lineup now missing both Michael Harris Jr. and Travis D'Arnaud. Take the under.
The AL West doesn't seem to have any one team making a run as of yet as the top four teams are 1.5 games separation. That includes the Mariners who are 4-6. The M's took two of three games from their set with the Guardians, losing Sunday's game, 6-7. Luis Castillo makes his third start of the season. Castillo has been brilliant thus far, going 11 2/3 total innings and allowing just three total hits and NO runs with 12 KO's and two walks. The Cubs are 4-4 to start the season. Chicago took two of their three games from the Rangers, but lost Sunday 2-8. Drew Smyly makes his second start after a bad first one. He went 4 2/3 innings vs the Reds, allowing nine hits and seven runs for the loss. I expect Castillo to continue his dominant for here tonight. And, as such your free play will be on the UNDER.
1 Unit FREE PLAY on Cardinals/Rockies OVER 11
The Colorado Rockies just went 3-0 OVER in their three home meetings with the Washington Nationals over the weekend as these teams combined for 13 or more runs in all three games. It should be more of the same here against the St. Louis Cardinals, who have a great lineup in the National League. Steven Matz gave up 4 earned runs and 11 base runners in 5 2/3 innings to the Braves in his first start this season. German Marquez just gave up 4 earned runs and 3 home runs in 5 1/3 innings against the Dodgers last start. Matz is 1-5 with a 7.22 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in seven previous starts against the Rockies. It's going to be 78 degrees at game time with light winds at Coors Field. The OVER is 5-1 in the last six meetings. Give me the OVER.

MLB | Cardinals vs Rockies
Play on: Rockies +130 at SC Consensus
Ricky's 1* play on COL.
Key Angle: It's important to remember that Ricky never makes a bet on any game based on just one angle. In order to make the grade, all his premium picks must meet several important criteria. He doesn't share all his secrets within his analysis, instead he chooses to reveal only the angle that he feels is the most significant. Here in this game the recent history of these two teams is particularly significant.
- The Rockies are 4-1 in their last 5 versus. National League Central.
- The Cardinals are 2-5 in their last 7 road games.
- The Cardinals are 1-5 in their last 6 overall.
Verdict: The value is on the home underdog.
