Analysis:
The Avalanche got a much-needed reality check in game 1 of their wild card match-up against the Seattle Kraken when they fell 3-1 in a disappointing offensive performance. Although Seattle played well against the Avalanche during the regular season, Colorado seemed to take Seattle lightly, and the Kraken capitalized on all opportunities. The Avalanche have grown to be a very strong 'bounce back' team, especially after a poor game in the offensive zone. Colorado is 40-11 in their last 51 games when scoring two goals or fewer. The Avalanche are a very deep team with a top six that is jam-packed with goal scorers and playmakers; they also have a power play that will make you pay when given the chance - I expect a much simpler game for Colorado where they use their size and speed to get behind Seattle defence and create plays behind the red line. I was surprised to see Colorado's defence not jump in the rush too much in game 1, but this is something that they will add to their game in game 2 to add pressure and give them a numbers advantage on breakaways.
Despite losing the game, Colorado still had more shots on goal and won the face-off battle. Seattle had some great goaltending in game 1, but if the Avalanche continue to apply as much pressure they did in game 1, they should have no trouble creating chances again in game 2, but this time capitalizing.
Expect the depth from Colorado to be on full display win Game 2 at home. Play Colorado in Regulation for a 5% wager.

5-Unit Play. #550. Take Golden State Warriors -5.5 over Sacramento Kings (Thursday @ 10pm est)

You are a 4 NBA time champion and you are down 0-2 as you return home. You don't have Draymond playing. What does this mean? I think it means that you do great and bounce-back in a big way here. Remember, the Warriors could be even better without Draymond and Kerr knows this, this allows them to play faster and you will see Poole and Payton get more minutes. You will also see a more assertive Wiggins which is what they need as well. I think the Warriors do great here, they have a championship pedigree, they come off a low offensive output for them which is at 106 points. Remember, the last time they scored this low was against Minnesota when they put up 96 points at home, then dropped 120 against the Pelicans in the next game. Or, scoring 110 against Denver and then scoring 136 against OKC next game. This is a must win, hard to imagine this team goes down 0-3 here and I think the absence of Draymond actually helps them more.



6-Unit Play. #906. Take Chicago Cubs +100 over LA Dodgers (Thursday @ 7:40pm est)

Let's try to see if we can get 3 straight 6*Winners today. Note, we are off to a 16-4 record start in Baseball for +5940 here. This is a nice spot here for the Cubs, as we think they will do well against the Dodgers considering they have Taillon who used to pitch for the Yankees pitching for them here. We love the fact that Taillon has yet to win a game this year and the fact he just faced these Dodgers and had his best effort to date and lost 1-2 is a good spot. Remember, he went 5 innings and gave up just 2 hits and 0 runs and he has immediate revenge of sorts and we get to see Grove here pitching for the Dodgers who has been suspect at times this year which is why he has a 9 era. We do not think he puts back to back quality starts together, we think he has a let down and therefore like the Cubs whose offense has been fantastic thus far. Wrigley is a tough place to pitch and we don't think Grove is up for the task and the Cubs are 11-4 in their last 15 games at home.
