HOLD THE SPICE - Finished off the board last out at Tampa Bay Downs, but was within five lengths of the winner. Opening at 8/1 makes me think he's got a chance. MR. SARCASTIC - Mitchell comes to ride again after getting to know the gelding in the last event. Possibly a peak effort for this gelding today. Been getting closer at the finish with each recent start. I like to wager on this angle, a horse coming back off a nice race within the last month or so. Look for this one to go to the winner's circle at some respectable odds right here. Ran fifth in last race, but not more than 5 from the lead at the end. WAR CROSS - After the race aboard this horse on March 8th, the rider is going to know the gelding much better. When this jock and handler combine forces you have to take a look. Meneses and Gatis have been fantastic together. Last workout was the second fastest of the day. Surely on edge for a good one today. This gelding recorded a nice speed figure of 83 in his last race. That speed figure should be good enough to win this time out.

CHESS'S DREAM - Tough to put any money on this horse on the win end. Likes to hit the board though. Not likely that the speed fig he recorded on Apr 8th will hold up in this race. SAVVY LAYLA - Hard to keep chasing this sort of 'hanger' horse. May bounce off of that last big effort. EXACTING - Most unsatisfactory rating last time out at Tampa Bay Downs at 1 mile 40 yards. Don't feel this questionable contender will improve too much in today's event.
