Presque Isle Downs - Race #2

#2 Anotherdayofwork	Feel like the spot in which she debuted might come back to be okay down the road, and she's got an experience edge on everyone else in here. Feel like it might be an encouraging sign if she's back so fast.
#3 Late Night Living	No arguments other than maybe the price here, as this barn dominates these races locally and secured an ace rider for this guy's first trip to post. Obvious player.
#6 Going Up	She and the rail runner both go first out for a team that has won a couple races like this here in the last couple years. Could see her being a little bit better down the road?
Race Summary	Anotherdayofwork has a little upside in this second career start, but there are a couple barns in here that have done really good work with similar horses in recent years. Hoping they'll command the cash and leave the top choice at a playable price.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #3

#1 Expect Lucky	Think he has a little mid-range price appeal, as he made a mild move last out before flattening in his first local start, and I wonder if he can find a cozy finishing trip from the fence in a spot with a few horses who should try to battle early.
#3 Starstreet	He takes a significant drop here after a couple dull runs, so it wouldn't be any surprise to see him shake these off on class -- but I'm not too thrilled with the way he stepped back off a useful debut run. Tough call for me.
#5 Super Gremlin	He is probably going to be a decent fit on class in this first start with the locals, and I like that he has shown the ability to dig in for a share after battling the pace in the past. Sticks around again?
Race Summary	Expect Lucky steps up off a decent enough first try over the local footing, and he might draft a decent trip for a team that has been going very well at the start of the meet.

Presque Isle Downs - Race #8

#3 Great Blake	Not sure there is a whole lot in here that you're supposed to be really afraid of, so maybe this guy can step forward again in the third start off the layoff. He has the right kind of style to track the pace and try to grind it out late. Interesting enough.
#1 Half Birthday	She's back off the bench with the boys, but her form was pretty solid before the layoff, and she might get a workable trip while tucked in behind the pace. Capable if she's ready.
#5 Big Thorn	He gets into an easier spot today for a cheaper price, but he is also coming back off the layoff with a really flat last running line on his page. I wouldn't want to be here at any kind of short price.
Race Summary	Great Blake seems playable enough in here while hopefully sitting on another improved effort in the third try of the season, and maybe he sustains that move into the pace from close range a bit better this time around.

Race Summary	BAM BAM BLUE chased speedball Thatsafactjack (16-43, $249k) and got caught for the runner-up spot by the odds-on favorite. The lightly-raced 11-year-old raced close-up off similar rest the last two times he won and holds a tactical edge over most of the field from a favorable post. Bet to win and place.

Delaware Park - Race #8

#6 AFERDITA (5-2)	Middle move to brief lead at 7F, perfect fit in this spot, recent race a plus.

TWIRLING ROSES - This gelding is rounding his way back into shape. Should race well today. This one could be an overlay right here at odds of 8/1. Finished fifth in last race at Hawthorne but was close at the wire. Everybody's got their favorite tracks, but if you ask this thoroughbred, I think his answer would be Hawthorne. LAKE MILLS - I usually like playing sprint horses who are 3-4 races into a return to racing. Sub-par outing last out at Hawthorne was due to the off-going (he finished fifth). Will do better in this event on a fast track. HURTS SO GOOD - I expect a lot from this race horse. His speed figures under similar conditions are tops in this group. This is the only horse in today's race that has won on this turf course. Notched a nice turf fig on September 30th at Hawthorne. A repeat in this race, and this one has a great shot to win. Look at this pattern of improvement. 85/88/91 are the last 3 speed figs. TEE BURNS - This horse coming off a strong try in the last month is a serious competitor in my book. Personally, I wouldn't worry about where he finished in his last race (fourth). Should rebound in this race, with some pretty good odds.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 FIT TO FLY (ML=5/2), #10 FEVER NATION (ML=5/1), #9 RACARINO (ML=6/1),

FIT TO FLY - Pedestrian fig last time around the track at Horseshoe Indianapolis at 5 1/2 furlongs. Don't believe this less than sharp equine will improve too much in today's event. FEVER NATION - Will be tough for this animal to beat this field off of that last speed fig. Improbable to improve enough to run a figure close to today's class figure, so put him on the likely underlays list. RACARINO - I have some doubts when a less than sharp equine has front bandages added in the last event. This less than sharp equine ran a disappointing speed rating last time around the track. He shouldn't show signs of improvement and will likely suffer defeat in today's event running that figure.

PAYNTED - The December 28th race at Turfway Park was at a class level of (93). Dropping down in the class scale considerably, so he should be in a good position to win. Running over a familiar track, where he has won multiple times before, I have to put this animal at the top of my list of contenders. FARZIN - Gelding shipped to this track and won; now goes for a double.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 UNCLE CHARMING (ML=5/2), #7 LOCK ON (ML=9/2), #5 GRAN ROJO (ML=5/1),

UNCLE CHARMING - Hasn't hit the board in any sprint affairs recently. Improbable to see him doing it today either. LOCK ON - 9/2 odds isn't enough for this thoroughbred when looking at the most recent outings. GRAN ROJO - A pattern of deteriorating speed figures 80/57/48 for this less than sharp equine. Should have at least finished in the money in the last 60 days in a short distance race to be worth the chance at modest odds in a sprint. This racer likes to land in the top three, but doesn't usually get the job done. Forget the top spot.
