Hawthorne - Race #6

#3 Frosted Temptation	First-timer is meeting a group that doesn't have a ton of heavy hitting running lines on the page, so he's an interesting fresh face for a team that has landed a couple like this locally.
#8 Simpson Bay	He's back off the bench after facing better through his first three starts, but he still has some proving to do on one-turn form. Another from a barn that's capable at this kind of level and trip.
#5 Overdue Honor	He's a 6-year-old making just his fourth lifetime start, but at least he's going second off the layoff with some upside off the Belterra comeback. The move to turf gives him some appeal, too.
Race Summary	Frosted Temptation debuts in what feels like it might not be the toughest local spot for the level, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the mix late -- as always, get a look at the new one on the track and tote.

Hawthorne - Race #7

#3 Lykan	I was pretty disappointed when expecting better last time out, but the price should be solid while he goes third off the layoff in a spot with a few potential forward players. Maybe along late at a number.
#1 Malpais	He should be a decent price here after the clunker last time out, but he could be sitting on something a bit better after taking a couple steps back off the good comeback run in March. Interesting for a small piece.
#9 Wildwood Sicilian	He has been lacking a final gear in his starts so far this season, but he should be in line for a great trip while tracking the speed from the outside. Runner-up from his last was a touch flat here the other day.
Race Summary	Lykan faced some pretty tough customers in those 2022 races, but he has yet to fire a decent one in a couple starts this season. He goes second off the break today with a little upside, and he's as good as any in here if he manages to approach his best today.

Hawthorne - Race #8

#5 Modifier	He was pretty visually impressive in the two-back score, but he never picked up when trying allowance company last time out. He's back in a more reasonable spot today and might rally better late today.
#8 Gate Crew	Something like his last would keep him in the mix, but I am a bit worried that his price is going to start to creep down just a bit as a reasonable second choice. Capable player, but I don't have a ton of enthusiasm here.
#9 Jealous Eyes	He's likely to be tough in here, but he has always been a reliable type who sort of runs to his competition, so I wouldn't be totally shocked if he came up short after being in a good spot turning for home.
Race Summary	Think the first question is whether or not you're with Jealous Eyes, as he looks like a deserving favorite after landing shares with better in recent starts. I think Modifier has a little appeal while getting back down in class, and I liked his two-back run enough to give him another look today.

Race Summary	JACK’S LILLY failed to sustain her bid off the Farrior re-claim, but she still looms a big threat on the class drop with seven 1-2 finishes in 11 starts. She has raced only once since February, but she became eligible for this condition last Friday. Bet to win and place.

Penn National - Race #5

#1 GOLDEN TREASURE (2-1)	Got focused too late with blinkers but closed with a rush.
#3 WARRIOR’S PAYOFF (6-1	Working forwardly for debut, trainer-jockey combo wins at high rate.
#9 SYLVIA I AM (15-1)	Liked him in easier spot when card was canceled last week.
Race Summary	GOLDEN TREASURE rode the rail throughout, was steadied midway on the turn and finished with good energy in the final eighth of a mile to finish a clear second. He faces PA-bred rivals tonight and figures tough if he stays in closer contact with field. Bet to win and place.

Penn National - Race #7

#2 OVER THE BORDER (6-1)	Rallied into fast pace to finish second in sprint, added ground a plus.
#7 MIDNIGHT STRIKES (5-2)	Best numbers, big class drop, question of readiness.
#3 SIR STEELE (4-1)	Settled for minor awards in three well-bet starts in a row.
Race Summary	OVER THE BORDER bid 4-wide on the turn and finished a distant second to the 3-to-2 winner at 6F. He has plenty of long-distance experience and could move forward in his second start after three months away. Bet to win and place.

Play a racer that finished second in a maiden race last time out but finished well ahead of the show horse. FIVE STAR FRAN - All systems look good for this filly. Last work, 2nd fastest of the day, shows she's fit and ready.

Vulnerable Contenders: #7 BACK TO D' FUTURE (ML=5/2), #2 BET ON DRAMA (ML=9/2),

BACK TO D' FUTURE - Didn't show much last time. Probably won't do much running in today's event. I checked out this horse's past performances and she doesn't do well as the public's top choice and is likely to be favored today. May 8th is the last time we've seen this filly around. Have to be a little bit leery. BET ON DRAMA - This mare finished off the board on May 25th and wasn't even close last time around the track either. This pony has no victories at Parx Racing.
