Analysis: The Open Championship Top-5 Finish BetMGM I'm playing this at MGM to get paid out full on ties and I recommend you do the same if available to you. You can get as high as +190 at Bet365 but are subject to the Dead Heat Rule. What Scottie is doing tee-to-green is historical, legitimately close to some of the numbers Tiger Woods was putting up back in his hay day. Of course, Tiger could putt too and that is the only thing holding Scottie back right now, but even without putting well, Scottie will be in the mix on Sunday. Scheffler has now finished inside the Top-12 in 19 straight starts. 19! That is absolutely insane. Further, he has now finished inside the Top-5 in seven straight starts including each of the last two majors. Scottie has gained strokes on approach and off the tee in every one of those events. This will be just his 3rd Open Championship start but he has solid finishes in both, with a T8 in 2021 and a T21 last year. With a winning score likely to be slightly lower than we saw in Scotland last week, Scottie will need to make a few putts this week to win, but his ball-striking along will have him near the top of the leaderboard. TAKE SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER +175 As an alternative, you can play Scottie Top-10 for a little more margin for error at -125 at MGM or around even money at most other books.

You can get this as high as +225 at Bet365 but are subject to the Dead Heat Rule) While Koepka has not won this major championship before, he has been close. He missed the cut last year but that’s easy to forgive in the middle of the whole LIV Golf thing. But prior to that, Koepka had finished in the Top-10 in four of the previous five Open Championships. We know he is in good enough form to win having lifted the Wanamaker trophy at the PGA Championship just two months ago and has since followed that up with four straight Top-20 finishes including a T17 at the US Open. Koepka can bomb it and when he is on, he is one of the best iron players on the planet, it’s just a matter of whether he can have the flat stick rolling well enough this week. The key for him is getting off to a strong start as he doesn’t generally win his tournaments coming from behind. When he makes the cut, he generally contends as he has two MCs in his last eight starts but has finished no worse than T18 when he does make the weekend. Fleetwood has three Top-12 finishes in his last four Open Championship starts and if you include the Scottish Open, he also finished T6 this year and T4 last year so there is no denying his ability on links courses. He will have some pressure on him this week as a hometown Englishmen which is one reason I'm nervous taking him to win, but as the only player on TOUR This year to rank in the Top-30 in SG Tee to Green, Approach, Around the Green, Putting and obviously Total, there is no real weakness in his game that suggests he will struggle at Royal Liverpool. 2% INVESTMENT ON TOMMY FLEETWOOD AS FOLLOWS: 1% OUTRIGHT +2800 1% TOP-10 +185

He was the betting favorite for a long period of time during the final round as he got off to a hot start, but in typical Hatton fashion, he melted down the stretch to settle for a T6. Still, Hatton is playing as consistently as anyone with just one missed cut over the last year, a run of now 28 events worldwide. Over that span, Hatton has 17 Top-20 finishes including 12 in the Top-10. Over just his last eight starts, his worst finish was a T27 which came at the US Open, which broke a run of six straight Top-20 finishes. This season, he ranks: 9th SG Tee to Green 6th SG Putting 3rd Total SG 6th Scoring Average Hatton has the rare combination of distance and accuracy off the tee. He has gained strokes off the tee in every event in 2023 except the Match Play. You can get this as high as +200 at Bet365 but are subject to the Dead Heat Rule) I was on Clark for a Top-20 finish last week in Scotland and if not for three bogeys in his final five holes on Sunday to fall oustdie the Top-20 by one shot, he would have cashed. But I like him again this week, mostly because his odds are much too long in my opinion. We have a guy that is the reigning US Open Winner and someone who has won twice in the last two months in major fields being price at around 60-1 compared to Cantlay or Schauffele for example who have neither won a major, not won in the last 11+ months. Clark has just one missed cut in his last 21 starts. In a more recent sample size over his last 11 starts, Clark has five Top-10 finishes including his two wins and a total of eight Top-25 finishes. His ball-striking numbers are fantastic and he can smash it off the tee which is always an advantage. Clark obviously doesn’t have a ton of experience with links golf, but he did make the cut at St Andrews last year in his first Open Championship and we know he is a much different player now than he was then. You can get this as high as +330 at Bet365 but are subject to the Dead Heat Rule) Harman likely to get a lot of attention this week as he has finished inside the Top-12 in three straight starts as his putter has gotten red hot while his SG approach numbers have rebounded to get him in decent position to make plenty of birdies. He finished T12 last week in Scotland in those tough conditions and has finishes of T6 and T19 in each of the last two Open Championships. Harman hasn’t had the best season so he doesn’t have great numbers to talk about, but he is accurate with the driver and with so many bombers on my card this week, he sort of rounds out my portfolio. 1% INVESTMENT ON BRIAN HARMAN AS FOLLOWS: 0.5% OUTRIGHT +12500 0.5% TOP-20 +275

You can get this as high as +475 at Bet365 but are subject to the Dead Heat Rule) I took Kuest last week and in what is basically the same field again this week, I’m going back to him, this time at much longer odds after his missed cut at the Barbasol Championship. Kuest is fun to watch hit the golf ball, simple as that. He absolutely smashes his driver and when even just one other part of his game is clicking, he can contend. Prior to his MC last week, in his previous two starts, not only did he gained strokes off the tee, but he has also did the same on approach and putting to finish T4 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and T17 at the John Deere Classic. He wasn’t quite as sharp at the Canadian Open, finishing T57, but he also had a Top-20 at the Byron Nelson in May, finishing T14.
