    Rotation #925-926
    Dodgers/Rangers Over 10 runs
    Sheehan/Perez
The Dodgers’ bats are red-hot in July and look outstanding in this series. Lost in the shuffle is how great the Rangers have been this season. Texas is the best offensive team in baseball when playing in day games. Emmet Sheehan is a young pitcher, so the Rangers should beat him up. The Dodgers are great against left-handed pitching and should score on the struggling Marin Perez. Look for another big offensive game. Take the Over.

      TODAY'S PLAY
The Pick: 20 DIME on the Padres on the Run Line

The Line: San Diego is -140 on the Run Line at 5:50 am pacific

Note: Musgrove and Faedo are both listed

      Today's Analysis

This price (-140) is right near the top of my scale of what I'm willing to risk on a game, and I'm willingly doing so - as should you if you've been a loyal follower - having won 20 of my last 24 releases, all Raise the Bar 20-Dimers like today's play.

San Diego's Joe Musgrove is 8-0 in his last 10 starts with a 1.76 ERA. In that stretch the 30-year-old right-hander has allowed only 50 hits, walked just nine batters, and registered 61 strikeouts in 61.1 innings pitched.

The Padres have rebounded from three straight losses at Philadelphia to go on a 4-1 roll that includes victories in the first two games of this series by scores of 5-4 and 14-3.

Detroit, in a 3-8 slump at home, has recalled Alex Faedo from Triple-A Toledo, where he had a 4.78 ERA in 32 innings this season, to make his first big league start since July 7.

The Tigers are 1-5 in Faedo's starts this season and his ERA in them is 6.98. The 27-year-old right-hander is 1-6 with a 6.80 ERA in 10 career starts at Comerica Park during his two brief cups of coffee in the majors over the past two seasons.

                  TODAY'S PLAY

The Pick: 2000♦ on the N.Y. Yankees (Severino) -1 1/2 runs over the Kansas City Royals (Lyles)

The Line: At 6:30 am eastern time, the Yankees are -1 1/2 runs, -105.

Note: BOTH listed pitchers must start, or there is NO ACTION.

                  Your Analysis

Nothing like seeing the Kansas City Royals on your schedule to help get your flailing team healthy!

The Yankees came back home from a 1-5 road trip and have been able to beat up the now 28-72 Royals on both Friday and Saturday.

Kansas City is just 2-7 since the All-Star Break, and they are also just 4-17 now in their last 21 meetings against the Yankees. Throw in the fact starter Jordan Lyles is tied for the Major League lead in losses with 11, against just 1 win, while sporting an ERA of 6.05, and I have to believe the broom is coming out in the Bronx, as the Yanks sweep away the Royals before they welcome the Mets for a set at Yankee Stadium tomorrow.

Luis Severino's quality starts have been few and very far between, but he did just work 6 complete innings with only 1 run allowed in his last start - a no-decision in an eventual New York loss in Anaheim to the Angels - and his team is now 25-12 when playing day games this season which happens to be the best mark in all of the American League.

Go ahead and play the Yankees on the Run Line this Sunday afternoon to complete the sweep.

                    The Pick: 400♦ Cleveland Guardians

The Line: At 4:30 am pacific, the line is +125

Instructions: Curry and Nola MUST GO.

                    TODAY'S ANALYSIS

The Philadelphia Phillies continue to be the most confusing team in baseball. One week they look like a contender, the next they're doing a Kansas City Royals impersonation. Right now they're skidding again, having lost four in a row, including the first two in this series against the Cleveland Guardians.

I'm ready to back the Guardians in Game 3, as I like the pitching matchup in this spot.

Cleveland's Xzavion Curry has been outstanding, to wit:
                    • He's 3-0 with a 2.86 ERA in 25 appearances
                    • He's 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA in 12 home appearances
                    • He's holding guests to a .217 batting average
                    • He's 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA in 10 Interleague appearances
                    • His lone start this season was his last time out, which resulted in an 11-0 win over the Pirates after opening with three scoreless innings

As for Philly's Aaron Nola, meh:
                    • He's 9-6 in 20 starts, but has a 4.27 ERA, too
                    • He also has a 4.99 ERA on the road, where he's allowed 15 of the 21 home runs he's surrendered
                    • He's got a 4.23 ERA over his last seven starts, and allowed four or more earned runs in 10 of his 20 starts
                    • He has a career 4.48 ERA over his last 15 Interleague starts

Take Cleveland today, as the pitching will be on our side once again.

                      TODAY'S PLAY

The Pick: 50 DIME - San Francisco (Alexander) over the Washington Nationals (Gore).

The Line: At 7:00 am eastern time, the Giants are -115.

Note: Gore is expected to be the opener for this game with DeSclafani coming in right after. In reality, I am OK with whoever starts this game for San Francisco.

                      Your Analysis

I am a big believer that inferior teams - especially 4 months into the season - simply are a go against when it comes to trying to secure a 3-game sweep against teams with a better record, and that is what we have today in Washington, D.C.

The Giants sport a 54-45 record for the season, while the Nationals stand at 40-58, yet today the Nats are seeking their very first 3-game series sweep of the season if they can handle San Fran once again.

The Giants are losers of 4 in a row, and their offense has fallen off the map with just 7 runs scored in those 4 losses. They have also lost 4 of their 5 season series meetings to the Nats, but today things will change.

Gabe Kapler is calling on Scott Alexander who happens to be 6-0 this season with an ERA of 3.04 to start/open this game, with the expectation that Anthony DeSclafani will take the ball very early at Nationals Park.

DeSclafani is 4-2 with a 2.95 ERA for his career against the Nats, although he did lose to them back in May at San Frnacisco.

As I mentioned above, I am fine with whatever pitching rotation Kapler uses, as the key today with be for the quiet San Francisco bats to make some noise against Washington pitching.

The Nationals turn to MacKenzie Gora who did win his last start despite allowing 5 runs to score in a start against the Cubbies. In his 2 career starts against the Giants, Gore has allowed 9 runs in just over 9 innings pitched for a 1-1 mark.

I'm banking on the law of averages today to even out and for the Giants to end their skid at 4 games.

                        TODAY'S PLAY

The Pick: 75 Dime - Baltimore Orioles (Wells) over the Tampa Bay Rays (Bradley).

The Line: The Orioles are +120 at 7:30 am eastern time.

Note: Both listed pitchers must start, or this is a no play.

                        Today's Analysis
When Tampa Bay started the season with 13 wins in a row, and continued to kick ass and take names for the better part of the first half of the season, it was hard to imagine the Rays wouldn't runaway with the American League East Division, but if you take a look at the division standings you will see that the Rays are no longer the top dog in their own division.

Tampa started this month of July up 6 1/2 games over the Baltimore Orioles, but the Rays are in the midst of a 4-13 month that has seen them cede the lead in the division to the O's who are currently on an 11-3 tear that has them atop the division by a game heading into this series finale clash at Tropicana Field today.

I am going with the surging Birds to claim the rubber game of this series with Tyler Wells and Taj Bradley set to take the hill. Wells stands at 7-5 for the year, but is also 0-3 for his career against the Rays with one of those losses coming just over a month ago.

Bradley is 5-6 with his last win coming in that game that Wells took the loss just over a month ago - June 21st to be exact.

Right now the Rays appear to be a team with no confidence at all, while the Orioles are riding that wave of confidence, so back the Birds in this rubber game on Sunday.

The Pick: 50 Dimes - Marlins Run Line

The Line: Miami is -130 on the Run Line at 9:00 am here on Sunday morning in Miami where I live.

                          My Analysis:

I've spent the past 25 years in Miami. I can tell you the Marlins weren't as good as they looked in May and June, and they're not as bad as they appear to be right now in the midst of an 8-game losing streak.

The stars are aligned for them to bust the streak today with Jesus Luzardo on the hill as they're 8-3 in his 11 home starts. In them the southpaw's ERA is 2.43 and his peripheral numbers are every bit as good as you would expect
                          • 66.2 IP 47 H 81 K 18 BB

So far this month Luzardo's ERA is 2.20 in 3 starts.

The Marlins blew a 3-0 lead in Saturday's eventual 4-3 loss to the Rockies, who are going with a bullpen game today. No repeat 24 hours later as Miami busts the game open early and wins it 5-2.
