    RECOMMENDED CHOICES
    # 4 GOD STILL LOVES ME 8/1
    # 1 CABRA CHICA 7/2
    # 8 BAHAMA PEARL 6/1
I give the nod to GOD STILL LOVES ME for this race especially at a such a nice price. She looks respectable in this spot and I expect will be on the front end or close at the halfway point. Horses who have been prepared to race at this distance and surface by Martin have shown sharp results lately. CABRA CHICA - Must be carefully examined based on the very strong Equibase Speed Figure garnered in the last race. The winning percentage shown by horses entered by Castillosanche running at this distance are the most favorable in this group. BAHAMA PEARL - The Equibase speed fig of 70 from her last contest looks respectable in here. Rojas has recent return on investment figures which make this one a strong bet.

      Emerald Downs - Race #4 - Post: 3:30pm - Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $14,500 Class Rating: 79

      Rating:

      #6 MARY WALKER (ML=3/1)
      #4 QUEENSBORO (ML=6/1)
      #3 SCATALICIOUS (ML=4/1)

MARY WALKER - Lucarelli brings her back again. I recommend you stick with this live filly. I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run her best in the 3rd or 4th start back. QUEENSBORO - Filly's last morning work was second fastest of the day for the distance. A filly like this one, almost always on the board, usually makes an excellent trifecta key horse. This animal has increased her speed ratings from a fig of 55 to 62 to 79 in succession. SCATALICIOUS - I like to play this handicapping angle, a thoroughbred coming back off a good effort within the last 30 days.

      Vulnerable Contenders: #1 RESERVOIR (ML=2/1), #2 WESTERN DREAM (ML=9/2),

RESERVOIR - I checked out this horse's past performances and she doesn't do well as the chalk and is likely to be favored today. On a downward sequence. Speed figs keep declining. WESTERN DREAM - In any event of 6 furlongs, I like to wager on a contender that has been sharp in short distance events of late. This entrant ran a run-of-the-mill speed figure last out. She shouldn't show signs of improvement and will probably get beat in today's event running that fig.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Bet on #6 MARY WALKER to win if you can get at least 7/2 odds
      EXACTA WAGERS: Box [4,6]

      TRIFECTA WAGERS:
      Box [3,4,6] Total Cost: $6

Race 5 - Maiden Special Weight - 5.5f on the Dirt. Purse: $17000 Class Rating: 41

FOR NATIVE MAIDENS, FILLIES TWO YEARS OLD. WEIGHT, 116 LBS.

        RECOMMENDED CHOICES
        # 1 CLAUDANIA 20/1
        # 8 ASTACIO QUEEN 4/1
        # 4 TATICA TATICA 20/1
CLAUDANIA looks to be a strong contender and the potential return justifies the very dangerous nature of the long odds. Looks competitive against this field and will almost certainly be one of the leaders. In this field, this one is prominent in earnings per start in dirt sprint races. The price could be just right on this one. ASTACIO QUEEN - Should be considered a solid choice on earnings per start at the distance/surface alone.

          Mountaineer Park - Race #7 - Post: 7:40pm - Stakes - 8.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $200,000 Class Rating: 104 West Virginia Governor's S. (Grade 3)

          Rating:

          #6 BUCK MOON (ML=8/1)
          #9 KEYSTONE FIELD (ML=12/1)
          #1 MASQUEPARADE (ML=12/1)
          #12 BEST ACTOR (ML=6/1)

BUCK MOON - You always have to be on the lookout for bankroll building jockey/trainer duos; we have one right here. No need to look any further. This racer has my dough. Way too much pace. The recent rating of 104 is the top last race speed rating in the field. KEYSTONE FIELD - Last out, finished fourth on a track listed as good at Horseshoe Indianapolis. Have to do better right here. A little change in scenery has got to do this horse well. Reading the PP lines, it seems like he likes to visit the winner's circle at different tracks. Getting a weight break of 7 pounds from last race at Horseshoe Indianapolis on July 8th. Should be helpful in this event. Maker, the trainer, shows intent by adding Lasix today. A positive sign. MASQUEPARADE - Have to give this horse a shot. Ran a good race last out within the last thirty days. Took a significant drop in class rating last time around the track at Horseshoe Indianapolis. Returning to a similar level in this event. Should perform well in this race. Look at this pattern of improvement. 86/90/97 are the last 3 Equibase speed figures. BEST ACTOR - When a horse finishes on the board as often as this colt does, you will usually want to use him in your exotic wagers. This horse likes to win at different racing venues. The switch in venue today may be a wake up call. Another way to evaluate class is earnings per start (EPS). This entrant has the top in the bunch. I think he'll be close at the finish line.

          Vulnerable Contenders: #2 O'CONNOR (CHI) (ML=3/1), #8 WAR CAMPAIGN (ML=5/1), #4 SURLY FURIOUS (ML=6/1),

O'CONNOR (CHI) - I normally try to beat this kind of chalk. Long layoff and no drop in level of competition. WAR CAMPAIGN - I predict bad luck for this equine in this race. SURLY FURIOUS - Registered a mediocre speed rating last time out in the Karl Boyes on July 3rd. Not likely to see an improved performance off of that figure.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Go with #6 BUCK MOON on top if we're getting at least 4/1 odds
          EXACTA WAGERS: Box [1,6,9]
