Wednesday 9/6/23 Free Plays / Trends / Betting Info / Etc
Wednesday MLB Free play. My selection is on the 'over' between Los Angeles and Miami at 6:40 pm et on Wednesday.
The wheels have come off for Dodgers trade deadline acquisition Lance Lynn over his last couple of starts as he's been tagged for 10 earned runs on 17 hits while striking out only two and walking three in 10 1/3 innings of work. He figures to have his hands full against the Marlins on Wednesday as they're hot at the plate right now, putting up 6, 8, 11, 6 and 6 runs over their last five contests. The Dodgers have been struggling but I do expect them to bounce back here in what amounts to a bullpen game for Miami. J.T. Chargois will get the start in an 'opener' role for the Marlins. Miami's bullpen has generally been unreliable at home this season, logging a 4.37 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with 19 saves converted and 14 blown (entering last night's action). With Dodgers road games averaging well north of 10 total runs on the season, we'll confidently back the 'over' on Wednesday. Take the over.
This is a play on the WASHINGTON NATIONALS for our Wednesday Free Play. Washington has lost eight of its last nine games including six straight following a profitable run of 11-3 in its previous 14 games and it has been a lengthy overall solid run. Going back to early-July, the Nationals are 28-23 over their last 51 games and on the season, +20.6 units. The Mets have caught a mini hot streak as they have won four of their last five games and come in as the road favorite again despite an unknown taking the hill. New York is just 29-41 on the road despite the win last night and down a massive 17.5 units. The unknown is Jose Butto who made two starts back in April and was decent as he allowed three runs over 9.2 innings. He was called up last week to work in relief and will be forced into the rotation because of the season ending injury to Carlos Carrasco. Joan Adon blanked Miami over six innings two starts back but facing the Marlins the next time out was a disadvantage as they had just seen him and they tagged him for five runs. Now he faces a Mets team that has not gone against him this season. Here, we play against road teams batting .305 or better over their last five games going up against an opponent with a slugging percentage of .370 or worse over their last 15 games. This situation is 57-34 (62.6 percent) over the last five seasons. Play (962) Washington Nationals
