1st race – (10) Pine Knoll tired badly last time but can rebound with a big effort here. (3) Parkland will welcome a return to turf. (4) Race Craft has some speed and can last for a major share of the purse. (11) Derby Code could be a threat despite a layoff since February. Betting strategy: 10 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4-10-11. Doubles: 3-4-10-11 with 2-3-5-12.
2nd race – (2) Thethrillofvictory gets some class relief here and could work out a winning trip. (5) Insignis debuts for Diodoro and could surprise. (3) Shankar deserves a long look here. (12) Devil’s Harvest could rebound with a solid effort here. Betting strategy: 2 to win, place. Exacta box: 2-3-5-12.
4th race – (10) Baba Voss used a strong rally to break his maiden and can make it two wins in a row here. (4) Spirit Maker ships in from California and cannot be ignored. (8) Grand Aspen looked sharp in a maiden win. (3) Miranda Rights should be a threat in the stretch. Betting strategy: 10 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4-8-10. Doubles: 3-4-8-10 with 1-3-7-12.
5th race – (7) Committee of One was a strong second in his debut and seems on edge for a winning effort here. (12) St. Armands Key seems poised for a solid try in his debut. (3) Tango Yankee had a miserable debut but could rebound here. (1) Act of Mutiny will benefit from a rail trip. Betting strategy: 7 to win, place. Exacta box: 1-3-7-12.
9th race – (4) Haughty has been competitive in tough company and looks best here. (3) Sinfiltre was hurt by a wide trip last time and should work out a better trip here. (5) Viareggio will appreciate the shorter distance. (7) For the Flag could be hard to catch in this field. Betting strategy: 4 to win, place. Exacta box: 3-4-5-7.
