Analysis:
Pinnacle on New England I think a lot of casual football fans are expecting the Eagles to pick up right where they left off and dominate the NFL. Well, a week one matchup on the road with New England is far from a rollover game. Even with an underwhelming team the past few seasons, the Patriots are always a well-coached team. As long as they play fundamental football, they should keep this game inside the number. Furthermore, Jalen Hurts did not play one single snap in the preseason. So, I’m supposed to believe that he just steps in completely cold and goes off against a Bill Belichick defense that has had all offseason to prepare? I don’t think so! Philadelphia may very well pull off a win here due to the fact that they’re more talented, but it’ll be a close game. Finally, here’s a stat for you that the Super Bowl losers are just 4-19 ATS in their season opener over the last 23 seasons. In addition to my general fade of the Eagles’ offense here, I also have to mention that Philly is rolling with a new offensive coordinator in Brian Johnson. So, I ask again, Jalen Hurts is supposed to come in and tear up the league while working with a brand new coordinator AND not playing one snap in the preseason? I don’t think so. Give me the Pats at home. We saw what happened Thursday night and that’s why we love the NFL. UPSETS!!
