CONTRABAND (T) is my choice. Calfrobe is serious with this one, wheeling him back quickly. Looks strong for the conditions of this race today, showing solid figs in dirt sprint races lately. Has formidable Equibase Speed Figures and has to be considered for a bet in here. FAST EH (T) - He looks quite good in this slot and I expect will be on the front end or close at the midpoint. Could beat this field given the 73 speed rating posted in his last outing. CHINGS PUMBA - The average Equibase class figure of 57 makes this one hard to beat. Dennis is very serious with this one, wheeling him back almost immediately.

NEW EVERY MORNING - This is a classic 'Lone Front-runner' scenario. If Alvarado gets him out of the gate cleanly it'll likely be smooth sailing. This gelding won on Jun 16th at a higher class level and the same 6 furlongs distance as today. Taking a big drop in class rating points from his September 2nd race at Emerald Downs. Based on that information, I will give this animal the edge. FORTY SMOOCHES - This gelding is back in a race very quick. This is a great angle - Sprint horses that come back in less than 10 days after a race. A good sign of a sharp and ready racehorse.SIX BLESSINGS - Have to like this gelding today. If you take a look at his PP lines you see a definite pattern, getting closer with all race. A horse coming back this promptly after a good race is a good signal. This one has increased his Equibase speed figs in each of the last two races. That kind of progress is worth taking note of. This gelding's last figure is good enough to score here, I'll bet on him right back this time. ABRAAJ MIRAGE - Possibly a peak effort for this gelding today. Been getting closer and the end with each recent start. I like to wager on this angle, a thoroughbred coming back off a sharp effort within the last month or so.COOLCROSS - Bowen's agent must enjoy anytime Evans gives them a mount; winning percentage together is tremendous. This gelding is back in a race very quick. This is a great angle - Sprint horses that come back in less than 10 days after a race. A good sign of a sharp and ready racehorse. Generally accepted handicapping angle - 3rd or 4th start after a vacation generally leads to a big effort. Going to run a nice one here. This gelding has been trying different distances, but from the looks of things, he ran a nice speed fig last try at this distance.

PATCH O'BRIEN - Really believe this magnificent animal is going to be very close near the finish line. YULETIDE GALLOP - Horse didn't get the best of trips in his first race. Expect much better today. It looks like Morales had to become familiar with this colt on July 30th when riding him for the first time. Back aboard again today. Have to forget about that last turf race. This colt should do better hitting the main track in this event.
