Remington Park - Race #8

PICKS NOTES
#3 Tommyhawk Hoping the price is right here, because he might be too cheap for these, but he's a pretty honest finisher in a race with a lot of spotty form. Wondering if the move back to the dirt gives him room to bounce back today.
#5 Connors Outlaw He should get the right kind of trip near the top, and I really like that he can relax just a touch and press if needed in a race with some potential speed drawn inside and outside of him. Capable.
#6 Pomeroy Haze He was flat at 6/5 last time around, but he should be close enough to spy the pace throughout in this one and might have something better to offer -- he'll need it to turn three lengths on Connors Outlaw.
Race Summary Tommyhawk has generally done his better work on slightly easier Oklahoma tracks, but he's an honest finisher who might have a little extra punch in him while cutting back off the turf run -- and be fair, is this really the deepest edition of this race we've ever seen? Some VERY good horses have run in this race in the past.
Remington Park - Race #9

PICKS NOTES
#6 Number One Dude His better stuff keeps him right there tonight, and I like that he seems to have at least some ability to get past horses, because there are a couple pace players I'm confident will be moving in the wrong direction late -- maybe including the likely chalk. Hoping for second choice appeal on the board.
#2 Ghost Hero I think he's supposed to win this on overall form that includes some good efforts with open company, but I worry that the price is going to be really short, and he might have a couple of cheaper thorns in his side on the pace front. On the other hand, he might drill these.
#5 That's Something The recent form isn't all that compelling, and I don't see a ton of reason for upside today outside of hoping for a big step forward in the third start off the break. That said, he should be in the right spot if the pace starts to struggle.
Race Summary Number One Dude has reliable form and has always done good work on the main track here, and he should be able to keep tabs on the pace players throughout.
Remington Park - Race #10

PICKS NOTES
#10 Justa Irish Lad I would have liked to see him kick on with something just a touch better in the lane last out, but he was hemmed in and on hold an awful long time on the fence. Wonder if he gets a bit freer run today and takes advantage of it at a decent price?
#7 Dark Afternoon He has never gone a route run, but this shorter two-turn trip might be in his scope with a couple of decent seven-furlong tries on his page on the main. His turf sprint form is pretty tough to argue with.
#3 Kodaline Felt a little torn here. This guy has been such a fun finisher to watch locally in those recent races, and he's a gutsy horse when engaged late. On form, he's intriguing, but on turf? Not so much. Foreign Policy offspring are simply dreadful on the grass, and I'm not sure we're going to get a price that's interesting enough to take the gamble on whether he's individually talented enough to overcome that.
Race Summary Justa Irish Lad should offer a midrange price with this group where Dark Afternoon probably takes some cash and Kodaline might attract some dollars on form with a massive surface question to answer.
