Heads into this outing with respectable TrackMaster class figures as compared to the grouping - worth a look. Should be in the hunt again in this event, looking to increase that already high lifetime winning pct. GRANITE - The panel of smart guys happens to know that when you put Smith and Rucker together very nice results frequently occur. Driver-trainer are a potent partnership when teaming up on a common nice horse. 20 percent return on investment these days. NVRPOPTDAPLUGS - The group noted a huge affair out of this entrant last time. Hoping for a repeat of that to dominate. With very good win stats, Page should have this gelding in excellent position to win the race.

TOLLY-HO - His 73 avg has this gelding among the most respectable TrackMaster speed figs here. Been racing with some tougher customers of late, has a distinct class edge. (Average Rating 74). BOOK BINGE - The wagering panel will always toss in a horse from the 2 hole here at Monticello Raceway, always worth a look.

PICKS NOTES
#7 Rikio He has typically been teetering around this kind of price, so I'm not that worried about the drop today, and I like that he's got some fairly reliable finishing form. Think his better stuff does the job.
#9 Inside Stunt He might wind up getting a good run prompting cheaper pace inside, but the form is getting a little spotty here at what might not be a really appealing price. Obvious player while in from Laurel.
#3 Hink's Paladin While he's also a decent candidate to finish last, I think there is a slight chance he pops early and takes them a long way in a race without a ton of confirmed frontrunners. Price should be big.
Race Summary Rikio fits well with this group, and I think he's in line for a pretty good run spying the speed and finishing today. I probably wouldn't want to be here at TOO short a price, so keep an eye on the tote.

Mahoning Valley - Race #7
PICKS NOTES
#1 Eagle Nest Sharp debut winner isn't meeting a ton of other early burn in here, so it wouldn't be any surprise to see him take cash, break well, and run these off their feet.
#3 Check the Facts He caught a sharp winner last time out and has run a couple decent races while tracking the splits. Could see him winding up in a good spot behind a couple pace players. In the mix for a piece?
#6 War on the River He's got honest form and has run into the same tough winner in a couple of his starts, and he should be in the right spot to pick up some pieces if the top choice packs it in.
Race Summary Eagle Nest rolled in the debut with some solid pace, and he meets a field again here that should allow him to flash that dangerous speed. Guessing he'll validate the debut run.

Mahoning Valley - Race #8
PICKS NOTES
#10 No Mas Cerveza He checks a couple boxes first out, but the big one is simply that he's a fresh face. I kind of like the rail runner, but this race otherwise creates an enthusiasm vacuum for me, and the barn at least does some OK work with maiden sprinters over the local footing. He brings a spotty worktab, so take it all in ahead of post time.
#1 Hartstein He tracked the pace but couldn't hang behind a sharp winner at first asking, and that guy was scheduled to go in race 7 today -- did he flatter this effort more? I worry that he's in for a tricky trip from the fence with a couple potential forward players mixing things up in his general area. Still think this one goes through him.
#7 Runaway Russell He has had a lot of chances, so it's tough to be here with any real confidence, but his form started getting a bit better near the end of the meet here last year, and he's in the frame for a piece if he comes back where he left off.
Race Summary #2 My Hombre also makes some sense while going second off the summer layoff, but he's another who brings a lot more questions than answers. No Mas Cerveza has a little appeal in a spot like this, and I think the price is going to be right on debut.
