OUR CORNERSTONE - I like that most recent outing on November 9th at Remington Park where he finished first. This rider/handler duo has been producing a very profitable ROI, right at +169. Have to like the way Stephens has raced this gelding back into shape off the layoff. Horse is well spotted in this sprint and I think he'll run well today. C W PRIZE - I like to bet on this handicapping angle, a pony coming back off a solid contest within the last month. I think this gelding is ready to run a good one. He's had enough races since the vacation and should be fit. This horse has increased his speed ratings in each of the last 2 races. That kind of progress is just want you want for a winner today. This thoroughbred earns a lot of dough per race. I believe he will boost that bankroll in this race. This gelding earned a good speed figure of 98 in his last race. That speed rating should be strong enough to win this time out. KALEO - The jockey/trainer tandem of Goncalves and Craddock has a strong ROI together. PP lines show this horse with 3 improving Equibase speed figures. Goncalves should be on a horse ready to go today. BIG MUCKITY - This colt is in fine condition. Finished third on November 1st. This colt is a gem of consistency, almost always in the money. This animal has increased his speed figs in each of the last 2 races. That kind of progress is worth taking notice of. MISSIN HOLLYWOOD - Taking this jock/conditioner combination is a good decision. Three consecutive improved speed figures (54-74-97) make this animal a strong contender.

CHUY GARZA Y. G. - Looked like he was in good form on Nov 2nd. Hasn't been near the track since then though. Not a positive sign. The pace scenario just isn't too promising for this early speedball. I back ROTKNEE here. Is worth serious consideration and may be a bet - strong Equibase speed figs (101 average) at today's distance and surface recently. He has been running solidly lately while recording very solid speed figures. Will likely be one of the front-runners of the bunch going into the midpoint of the outing. BOLD JOURNEY - This selection will feel the med change - now going off Lasix today. Must be carefully examined based on the decent Equibase Speed Figure posted in the last contest. WIN FOR GOLD - Should hit the board without any problem. Has a strong record at the distance and surface, which makes me give the nod to this gelding.

WORLDS ON HIGH - Villagomez was aboard this gelding last time out and was impressed enough to take the animal right back. This event sets up for this gelding. I call this the 'Lone Stalker' scenario. When the real running starts, he'll be in perfect stalking position. ROAD TO STARDOM - I have to figure that today's shorter distance should help this gelding. This horse could be tough in today's contest, especially since Camacho rode last time around the track and now should be plenty familiar with this one. The 81 recent race speed figure looks sound on paper. Earnings per race is something that I think can be an important handicapping aspect. This horse is ranked number one in this field. COLLECT REDEMPTION - I usually like playing sprinters who are 3-4 races into a comeback.

COBRA JET - This gelding has higher odds on the morning line than the other entrant from the stable of Lucarelli. Better watch out for this angle. Last ran at Golden Gate Fields and finished fifth. Reviewing his PP data, I see he was close at the wire, within 5 of the winner. This entrant wins a lot of money per race around the track. I believe he can increase the lifetime bankroll in this race. SCHOCHOH - Gelding has shown some early speed. This shorter distance should be better for him. LIL MIRACLE MAN - This gelding likes to be near the lead. Today's event is a shorter trip and should help his chances to win. Finished off the board last out at Golden Gate Fields, but was within 5 lengths of the winner. Opening at 6/1 makes me think he's got a chance.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 HANDSOME GARY (ML=9/5), #6 STAND TO (ML=3/1), #7 AUTISM BLUE (ML=4/1),

STAND TO - 3/1 is just not enough of a value to take on most any horse that has run poorly in back to back outings. I find it hard to invest in this pony this time around. Make him show you something in a sprint event before you invest in him in a race of 5 1/2 furlongs. Finished ninth in his most recent performance with a disappointing speed rating. When I look at today's class figure, it would take an improved performance to triumph after that in this group. AUTISM BLUE - This colt has already been defeated as the favorite twice. Hard to give him another chance. Finished third last time. Would have to move up to be on the board in today's race.
