Saturday 12/16/23 Free Plays / Trends / Betting Info / Etc
Handicapping bowl games is not an exact science, but you try to isolate which teams have motivation to play and which players are going to be available to play. The Ohio Bobcats will not have their starting quarterback Kurtis Rourke, leading rusher Sieh Bangura, and leading receiver Miles Cross. The absence of these players suggests that the Bobcats won't be particularly motivated here. The Eagles have a handful of defensive players in the portal, but their offense is expected to be in good shape. They ranked among the top passing offenses in the country averaging almost 300 yards per game.
Saturday NFL Free play. My selection is on Minnesota plus the points over Cincinnati at 1 pm et on Saturday.
That Vikings defense that was thought to be so bad at the start of the season has turned out to be a strength of the team, holding eight of their last 10 opponents to 21 points or less. The offense will obviously need to pick it up this week (with Nick Mullens taking over at quarterback) after scoring just three points in an incredibly ugly victory in Las Vegas last Sunday but I think it can against a Bengals defense that has been wildly inconsistent. Yes, Cincinnati held Indianapolis to just 14 points in last week's blowout win. Keep in mind, it is just one week removed from giving up 31 points against Jacksonville. This has all the makings of a tightly-contested, low-scoring affair and in that situation, I'll gladly grab all the points I can get with the underdog Vikings. Take Minnesota.
