TRUE EMPRESS - I like to play horses that faced open company in their last race and drop into state bred races. This filly fits the bill. A repeat of that recent effort on November 14th where she garnered a speed figure of 89 looks good enough to score in this race. EASY PLAY - Filly was in versus 'open company' on Dec 3rd and should find this group easier to deal with. Likes to go to the front and the fact that today is a shorter distance should help. D'Alessandro drops her down to this class level. You don't need too much more handicapping knowledge to think this one is in a good spot at this level. I know the outfit is serious today. The filly gets Lasix for the first time.

LADY MINE - Hasn't finished in the money in any sprint contests recently. Unlikely to see her doing it this time out either. Not probable to improve enough to run a figure close enough to today's class figure, so put her on the likely underlays list. LITTLE LINZEE - The Brain always warns me to stay away from horses in short distance races that haven't finished in the money in short distance affairs lately. This horse just hasn't looked ready lately. When scrutinizing today's class rating, she will have to garner a better speed fig than last time out to be competitive in this dirt sprint.

HIGHWAY BOUND - Using this jockey/handler combination is a smart move. Sprinters that come back to the races quickly are generally good plays. Gelding has shown some speed. This shorter distance should be better for him. MY BLUE EYES - This horse coming off a solid performance in the last thirty days is a win candidate in my humble opinion. You'll be generating money left and right by turning your bankroll onto this jockey/conditioner combination. That 69 fig this gelding earned in his last race tells me he's a chief player this time.

HARBOR'S BEAUTY - This filly should give a good account of herself in today's event. HEAVENLY VIOLET - This jock and conditioner have a high winning pct together. This filly is the longer price of the 'split' entry from the barn of Tamayo. Horse has improved at least two speed fig points in last 2 races. I look for that positive trend to continue today. HILLSDALE NATION - Already competed against today's M/L choice on Nov 26th at Golden Gate Fields and finished ahead of that one. Have to believe she can do it again in this race. Atop this horse on November 26th and Monroy is yet again in the irons this race. This filly is obviously on the improve with speed ratings of 40, 44, 60 last 3 out.

SAHARA SUE - Going to have a difficult go of it with all of the other early speed in this event. That last speed rating was mediocre when compared with today's Equibase class figure. HARBOR DEAREST - Didn't come through as the chalk back to back. Probably won't gain a top finish today either. It seems like too much zip is on board in this affair. This front-runner will in all probability get roasted on the top end. LADY OF THE RIVER - In this situation, this questionable contender's inability to close ground in the last race is a reason for concern.

Has the makings of a profitable play, averaging a nifty 83 speed rating. Most definitely the class of the field of starters with an average rating of 86. A nice choice. LA MAGIC - He has been racing competitively and the TrackMaster Speed Ratings are among the most respectable in the grouping. This gelding has been racing versus some of the most competitive company in this race of late. JESSIES OUTLAWED - Some trainers just fit better with certain standardbreds.
