This is a play on the SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI GOLDEN EAGLES+8 for our Saturday Free Play. The Golden Eagles opened Sun Belt Conference action with a loss at Georgia Southern which came into the game 0-12 on the season but they bounced back with a win over Georgia St. on Thursday. That was the first home game after four straight games on the road as nine of their first 14 games have come on the road and they are now 4-1 at home. This is one they have had circled as they look to defend their regular season title, coming in as the favorites again led by the SBC Newcomer of the Year Austin Crowley and the favorite to win Player of the Year. James Madison surprised many on the football field with a 10-0 start to the season and now the hoops team is off to a 14-0 start. The Dukes went 12-6 in their first year in the conference last season and they are expected to contend again but this is a surprising start. They have been fortunate by playing a schedule ranked No. 314 with them being favored in each of their last 11 lined games. James Madison does own two strong wins on the road at Michigan St. and Kent St. but those went to overtime and could have gone the other way. Play (668) Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles
At Professionalsportspicks we see a future where those handicapping sports without advanced analytics and data-driven strategies will be left behind.
Our data-driven picks use data integration, search and discovery, and knowledge management along with collaboration with our in-house handicappers. By isolating relevant trends, removing human bias, and targeting only lines with a positive expected value above a certain threshold, our data-driven picks promise to outperform any and all human competitors.
Our models suggest that the value is on the Baltimore Ravens as a home underdog against Pittsburgh Saturday afternoon. The Steelers have been playing close games all season, and their meetings with the Ravens are typically decided by a field goal or less. The Ravens can afford to rest players for the playoffs, but there are only so many players on the team and we think they'll stay competitive.
Supporting trends: Ravens are 33-15-3 ATS in their last 51 games as an underdog. Ravens are 18-7-2 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
