        Penn National - Race #3 - Post: 6:58pm - Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $14,000 Class Rating: 78

        Rating:

        #3 AZZARO STEEL (ML=6/1)
        #11 DIALING DIXIE (ML=3/1)
        #7 HOPE FOR GOLD (ML=5/1)
        #8 JETTIN OUT (ML=8/1)

AZZARO STEEL - Graci had been running this gelding at higher levels recently. Did win a non-classified race race though, on August 22nd. Could do it again here. DIALING DIXIE - This gelding hasn't won in his last three starts, but he did win on August 18th against better at 6 furlongs. Haughton drops him down to this class level. You don't need too much more handicapping knowledge to figure that this horse will be one to beat at this level. HOPE FOR GOLD - This gelding is at the same 6 furlongs distance he won at on July 29th, which was at a higher class level than today's race. This pony coming off a solid performance in the last month or so is a strong challenger in my book. I think that a sprinter coming off a layoff will usually run his best in the 3rd or 4th start back. Past performance data show this pony with 3 improving speed figs. Torres should be on a live horse in this event. JETTIN OUT - I wouldn't worry too much about the layoff; this gelding is ready to run today. This horse has shown the ability to win on different ovals. Making the move from Mountaineer Park for today's event, I have to believe he's ready to run. A repeat of that last effort on October 8th where he notched a speed figure of 78 looks lofty enough to win in this race.

Vulnerable Contenders: #1 SON OF DARKNESS (ML=7/2), #4 DIXIE CANNONBALL (ML=4/1), #10 NOBLE JON (ML=6/1),

SON OF DARKNESS - Ran well to finish first on December 14th, but hasn't had even a single workout since then. DIXIE CANNONBALL - A strong thoroughbred that's been running well, but he's been off the track in the mornings lately. Speed kills. Plenty of early zip in this affair compromises this animal's hopes. NOBLE JON - He's likely going to get cooked at the front.

GUEST COMMENTARY: Winston - AZZARO STEEL - Taking a very big Equibase class figure tumble today. Let's cash in on the drastic descent.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Putting our cash on #3 AZZARO STEEL to win. Have to have odds of at least 4/1 or better though

          Race 2 - SA - 8.0f on the Turf. Purse: $39000 Class Rating: 95

SA - R7 - FOR FILLIES AND MARES FOUR YEARS OLD AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE STARTED FOR A CLAIMING PRICE OF $50,000 OR LESS AND WHICH HAVE NEVER WON THREE RACES. WEIGHT, 124 LBS.

          RECOMMENDED CHOICES
          # 5 KATERINI 4/1
          # 1 ANNIE'S JOY 5/2
          # 4 STRANGE ADDICTION 8/1
KATERINI is the top wager in this race. Could provide positive gains based on solid recent speed figs with an average of 91. She looks respectable in this spot and I expect will be on the front end or close at the halfway point. Earnings per start in turf route races is solid for this animal. ANNIE'S JOY - Must be used in the exotic wagers. Have to bet on this money-making jockey and handler twosome. STRANGE ADDICTION - Must be given consideration in this event if only for the strong Equibase Speed Figure recorded in the last race.

Race 3 - Optional Claiming - 8.5f on the Turf. Purse: $91000 Class Rating: 81

GP - R8 - FOR FILLIES THREE YEARS OLD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON A RACE OTHER THAN MAIDEN, CLAIMING, STARTER OR RESTRICTED OR WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES OR CLAIMING PRICE $75,000. WEIGHT, 120 LBS. NON-WINNERS OF A RACE OTHER THAN CLAIMING ALLOWED 2 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $75,000 (IF DEEMED INADVISABLE TO RUN THIS RACE OVER THE TURF COURSE, IT

            RECOMMENDED CHOICES
            # 9 MACANGA 3/1
            # 2 GOLDEN GHOST (GB) 9/2
            # 11 DYNAMIC PRICING (IRE) 5/2
I think MACANGA is a very strong choice. Should expect a strong performance with the class drop. Has run strongly when racing a turf route race. With a very strong 87 Equibase speed fig last time out, will clearly be a factor in this race. GOLDEN GHOST (GB) - Make a note that this entrant runs on Lasix today. I like the jockey on this filly - formidable chance to win the contest. DYNAMIC PRICING (IRE) - Prominent in earnings per start at the distance/surface in this bunch. Has recorded solid Equibase Speed Figs in turf route races in the past.

              Charles Town - Race #1 - Post: 7:00pm - Maiden Claiming - 4.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $10,800 Class Rating: 41

              Rating:

              #1 SONGTELLER (ML=8/1)
              #4 BIG R. NAUFFAL (ML=9/5)
              #3 EVERYDAYISAGIFT (ML=6/1)

SONGTELLER - Rode this horse on Dec 8th and Mawing is back again in the irons in this race. This mare is utmost in earnings per race. Check out this one in the saddling enclosure. Mawing and Malgarini-Mawing perform well when they join forces. It's hard to beat a +166 ROI for a jockey and handler. Ran in the last race against a better field at Charles Town. The move down the ladder based on class should suit her well. BIG R. NAUFFAL - The November 27th event at Mahoning Valley Race Cour was at a class level of (54). Dropping down the ladder based on class considerably, so she should be in a good position. Starting from the inside, this horse should have a distinct edge. Her pace setting style should serve her well in this short race of 4 1/2 furlongs. A strong handicapping angle is 1st time Lasix. Farrior gives it to this one for this affair. Entered a Maiden Special race at Mahoning Valley Race Cour last race out and raced on a track listed as good finishing fifth. Have to do better in this race. EVERYDAYISAGIFT - Nice return on investment for this rider and conditioner tandem. You have to really like that last race figure, 39, which is the top most recent race speed rating of this field.

              Vulnerable Contenders: #5 SK'S HEART (ML=2/1), #2 PALMARY (ML=3/1),

SK'S HEART - Doesn't seem inspiring to me after the lack of any type of closing response on Dec 2nd. PALMARY - No good results for this horse in a sprint contest over the last couple months tells me that this filly is in a thorny circumstance

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Have to go with #1 SONGTELLER on the win end if we get at least 3/1 odds
