This fine animal looks dangerous considering the high class numbers. Don't toss out of any exotics. Could more than likely better this group of animals given the 80 speed figure recorded in his most recent competition. MAGIC JOE LINDY - Post 1 has been winning at a much higher than average clip, suggesting respectable probability of success here. The consortium can't help but give the nod to this solid standardbred because the internal pace stats fit well here at Northfield Park. BOMBAY BOBBY - Chances are greatly improved for entrants starting from the 2 position at Northfield Park. This outing could very well be controlled by this gelding. One look at the avgerage speed rating will confirm that.

Santa Anita - Race #3
PICKS NOTES
#7 Make It Snow Price might get a little short here, but I think she's going to be tough while meeting a group that might finally give her the setup to get over the top. Lots of forward chasing types signed on, and she should be able to punch past these late.
#5 Apple Fest She stayed a lot better in that second career start, but she's going to have to deal with some other pace while trying turf and racing off the layoff. Capable, but I think a couple of things have to go right for her to land it.
#2 Collectively She might be able to tap the brakes just enough to avoid taking the worst of any pace battle that develops, and she wouldn't be a total surprise with a grinding effort from close range.
Race Summary Make It Snow figures to take some cash, but I think she's going to be really tough in the early multi-race plays. Her form is reliable, she has run well going short on the turf before, and she gets a great projected race flow.

Santa Anita - Race #7
PICKS NOTES
#7 Wakanaka Thought she'd run a bit better going long last time out, but now she's back to what is closer to her best trip, and there are a few potential pace players in here that could give her a fair enough pace to kick at.
#5 Kissed By Fire Riser's only dull effort came in Grade I company, and I think she might be committed enough to the front end to make her the one to catch turning for home. Interesting.
#12 Adday in Asia She was a no-show at 9/5 at Keeneland in October, and I love the fact that she's getting a class hike off the short freshening. There are some good ones in the company lines on her page.
Race Summary Wakanaka never really picked up in Grade I company last time out, but she has been reliably classy over the last couple years and looks like the one to fear late.

Santa Anita - Race #9
PICKS NOTES
#10 Discretionary Day His form is all over the place, but he has been in with some better groups over the last few months and probably has enough pace to find a great prompting spot in a race without much serious speed. Midrange price chance.
#8 Thirty Four Coupe He is another who should be quick enough to find an advantageous spot near the top, and he was a decent fit with similar at Del Mar back in November. Probably the one to beat.
#6 Luke Grazie Bit concerned about the race flow for him today, but he has occasionally shown a little bit of positional speed in the past, and that would probably serve him well with these. Don't think it'd be a real surprise to see him outfinish these.
Race Summary Discretionary Day is probably playable at something just a bit shorter than the 12/1 ML offering, as I think the race flow flatters his style while finding a softer group than he has seen in a bit.
