Handicapper: Wayne Root League: NCAAB Competition: Usc vs Arizona State Time: Saturday, January 20, 02:00 pm ET Bet Type: Point Spread Pick: Arizona State -2.5 (-110) (BetMGM) Bet Now Rotation #: 658 Analysis: Pinnacle on Arizona State Confidently backing the Arizona State Sun Devils in this matchup is a decision rooted in solid defensive performance. USC's defensive challenges and offensive inconsistencies further support the prediction of the Pac 12 dominating performance by Arizona State. Arizona State, ranked 3rd in the conference, has shown the ability to contain opposing teams, allowing an average of 70.6 points per game. The defense against the three-point shot, holding opponents to a 32.0% success rate, is particularly notable. This defensive prowess is a critical factor, especially when facing a USC team that has struggled with shooting consistency. The Sun Devils' leader, Frankie Collins, excels in points, assists, and steals, demonstrating his vital role in the team's success. Arizona State's home-court advantage further bolsters the Sun Devils’ chances, providing an additional layer of confidence in the ability to secure a win. The Sun Devils' determination and tactical approach, combined with USC's challenges, especially in the absence of key players like Boogie Ellis, make Arizona State the clear favorite in this encounter.

Texans/Ravens Under 43.5
It’s a cold day in Baltimore that will test the Texans’ running backs and their young, sensational QB. CJ Stroud has been one of the best rookies in football this season, but I believe his season ends today. The Texans’ young coaching staff has their hands full. Baltimore plays excellent at home and is used to the weather. The Ravens are short-handed at the receiver position, as Mark Andrews is still out. Both defenses should be ahead of the offenses today. Houston has a deep secondary, and the defense has to play an outstanding game to keep the game close. Look for a rare low-scoring playoff game. Take the Under

49ers -10 over Packers
49ers/Packers Over 50.5
The Packers are a few years ahead of where they should be, as the coaching staff has been outstanding. Quarterback Jourdan Love has been incredible, and the young receivers have looked like veteran players. Aaron Jones is running with a purpose and should have a decent evening. The 49ers are the best team in the NFC and don’t have many flaws. Brock Purdy has been phenomenal, and their running game, led by Christian McCaffrey, is elite. San Francisco has fantastic receivers that should outlast the Packers’ defense, which needs more depth at all three levels. The Packers’ rookie punter is hurt, and their FG kicker is just a rookie. Special teams always play a significant factor late in the season. Green Bay is the youngest team in football, and sooner or later in this game, the wheels will fall off. Look for a high-scoring match dominated by San Francisco. Take the 49ers and the Over.
