Illinois -3.5 over Ohio State
Ohio State has struggled this season and is the loser of two straight. Illinois is looking to beat up on a vulnerable opponent. Terrance Shannon gets in better game shape each contest and is a massive asset for the Illini. Illinois hit a small conference transfer homerun as Marcus Domask and Quincy Guerrier have been outstanding. The Illini have the size advantage and are a deep team loaded with veteran players. Look for the Illini to play better than they did in their last game on the road against Northwestern. Take Illinois.

Villanova -1.5 over Marquette
On paper, Marqutte is a better team, but they lack depth with Chase Ross out for a few weeks and Sean Jones out for the year. It’s tough to win on the road when you don’t have a deep bench. Both teams played stiff non-conference competition and will be ready come March to make a run in the BIG East Tournament. I like the Wildcats at home because they have a deeper bench and many veterans that can score. Tonight’s game should be a defensive battle. Look for the Wildcats to control the tempo and slow the game down. If Marquette gets into significant foul trouble, they are toast. Take Villanova.
