Here's his suggestion (let's use a -140 favorite). If he goes 5-5, you win (5 x $78 or $390) and lose (5 x $110 or $550). So -1.6 units

Betting the full -140, you're down 2 units.

If he has a 7-3 record, you win (7 x $78 or $546) and lose $330, so +2.16

Or at full odds, you're looking at winning $700 and losing $420, or +2.8 units

So you lose a little less and win a little less. BFD! It's no solution at all. And as you stated, I stead of cherry picking time frame to make his shilling look better, he should try being honest and give current records based on net units w/l
