    #2
    Brian W. Spencer's Daily Picks

Presque Isle Downs - Race #3
#3 Fleur Delacour Hoping she sneaks by as maybe the second choice in here after a good comeback run, but she's not one I'm going chase given her history of giving away ground late in her races. Think this might be the right spot on the right day.
#5 Heaven Rules Tough to split all of the listed players in here, and she's another one who figures capable of landing this if she can move forward. Her career debut was pretty solid and might set her up for something better today.
#4 Love Restrained She's obviously one of the ones in here after turning in a big effort off the bench last out when making her local debut. Any step forward makes her tough, but I think there are a couple others who can stay in the frame.
Race Summary All three of these have some upside while making their second start either off the break or of their career, but I think Fleur Delacour should be in a perfect attack spot from the start.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #7
#2 Marinara Sauced He has to turn the tables on the guy drawn inside, but he was only about a length off him when they met here earlier this month. The sprint form on his page is deceptively solid, and he might offer another midrange price while cutting back off the route try.
#1 Gavel He handled the new footing just fine here last time out, but I worry that he could be in for a slightly tricky trip from the inside. The one to beat.
#3 Outsider He looked good finishing up to land the debut run, and it wouldn't be a shock to see him run a more tactical race today if he breaks better. Not sure what he's made of yet, but today might help establish that.
Race Summary Marinara Sauced has some appeal while turning back, and the price might be solid enough to take the chance that he'll hold his form again in his third start this month.
Presque Isle Downs - Race #8
#1 Chaste One He didn't have the easiest trip in his local debut when also catching a runaway winner, and I think he might be able to tuck in and save a little ground while tracking the pace on the stretchout. Some appeal
#11 Streamsong He has some confirmed finishing form in a race without a ton of it, and that may also help him negate some of the effects of the wide draw in this spot. Probably the one to beat.
#6 Secret Treasure He has some positional pace and some grinding ability late that might keep him in the picture. Still think he's open to being picked up late, but he should be in a good spot throughout.
Race Summary Chaste One comes out of a local race I liked a bit even though the winner disappointed at Churchill in his follow up. Thinking he might draft into a sweet spot on the fence.

      #3
      Frank Carulli's Daily Picks

      Delaware Park - Race #1
#2 CLEVER TIGER (7-2) Solid comeback try with first-time Lasix, shorter sprint distance should help.
#4 BIG TONE C (8-5) Beat ‘Tiger’ for place spot on the class drop, gets Cedeno.
#5 SKULL RUNNER (2-1) Tampa shipper chased the dueling leaders and faded in well-bet debut.
Race Summary CLEVER TIGER broke outward, dueled 4-wide to the turn and held off the favorite to finish third at 6F. He shortens up for his second start this year and gets in light-weighted. Bet to win and place.
      Delaware Park - Race #3
#1 COUNTRY CHARLIE (10-1) Hit his best stride going long on the grass, cutback to 7-1/2F a plus.
#5 HOLLA AT YOUR BOY (5-1) Rallied into fast pace to brief lead, ran third off six-month layoff.
#4 HENDRICKSON (4-1) Lacked stretch kick in turf routes against better, starts for new connections.
Race Summary COUNTRY CHARLIE chased the leader through solid fractions, drifted widest in the stretch and gave way to a pair of deep closers and others in a turf route race. He at least validated a much-improved effort two back at 107-1 odds on his return to the lawn. Bet to win and place and play a 1-4-5 exacta box.
      Delaware Park - Race #8
#7 LUCKY LORRAINE (8-1) Check-getting type was claimed by trainer on hot long-distance run.
#6 DIA DE SOL (5-1) Five wins tops field, but she tired nine months after the vet voided a claim on her.
#2 MURUMBI (2-1) Rallied into slow pace to finish second on the stretch-out in distance.
Race Summary LUCKY LORRAINE finished in the money in three consecutive starts on a fast strip at various distances before she took a step back in her latest try. She likes to finish second but could upgrade to a victory for a barn that is on a 16-for-67 run with ‘distance’ runners. Bet to win and place.

            # 2 EAST RAND 12/1
            # 9 FRISCO KID 30/1
FAR BEYOND looks strong to best this field. Had one of the strongest Equibase Speed Figs of this group in his last affair. Must be carefully examined given the class of races run lately. His 82 average has this gelding with among the top Equibase speed figs for this event. EAST RAND - Could provide positive gains based on very strong recent speed figures with an average of 83. Is a strong contender based on figures garnered lately under today's conditions.

              Belterra Park - Race #7 - Post: 3:35pm - Allowance - 8.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $18,500 Class Rating: 80

              Rating:

              #4 BLUE NORTHER (ML=5/1)
              #2 NAVY CROSS (ML=9/2)
              #5 METATRON'S MUSE (ML=7/2)

BLUE NORTHER - Look for this one to go straight to the finish line at some respectable odds right here in this race. Ran fourth in last race, but not more than five from the lead at the wire. This is the only real stalker in the race. Look for this gelding to show better in today's race. Last clash at FanDuel Horse Racing finishing fourth on the mud is no sign of his true ability. NAVY CROSS - Looking at today's class figure, this thoroughbred is up against an easier bunch than last out at Churchill Downs. Adding blinkers often leads to an improved performance on the racetrack. METATRON'S MUSE - Ran last time around the track against a better group of horses at Belterra Park. The move down in class should suit him well. He must like the track here. He just won over the track after shipping in. This equine picks up a lot of cash per race. Tops in this race.

              Vulnerable Contenders: #1 STIRDATPOT (ML=2/1), #3 TALKSCHEAP (ML=5/2),

STIRDATPOT - This gelding hasn't been showing me anything in the last two efforts. TALKSCHEAP - 5/2 is just not enough of a price to take on this one.

STRAIGHT WAGERS: Play #4 BLUE NORTHER to win if you can get odds of 5/2 or more

JEZEBEL JADE is my pick especially at such a decent 10/1. Had one of the best Equibase Speed Figs of this field in her last outing. CONFIRMED STAR - Boasts solid Equibase Speed Figs on average overall when compared with the rest of this group of animals. Ought to go to the front end and could never look back. COLOR CRUSH - Had one of the best speed figs of this group in her last contest. Has posted solid speed figures in turf sprint races in the past.

                  Rating:

                  #6 MISS FOXANN (ML=4/1)
                  #5 PROVIDING (ML=15/1)

MISS FOXANN - Dropping down in class rating points from her May 3rd race at Laurel. Based on that info, I will give this horse the advantage. I just may give this one a chance. Should rebound off last race where she did run out of the top three, but was within 5 lengths at the finish line. PROVIDING - Looks like an overlay in today's race at odds of 15/1. Finished sixth in last race at Delaware Park but was close at the wire. Generally accepted angle - 3rd or 4th start after a layoff generally leads to a big effort. Today's the day. Forgive the out of the money finish on the off track last out. On a fast track, has a chance in this event.

Vulnerable Contenders: #3 IRISH VICTORY (ML=5/2), #1 NEW WAYS TO DREAM (ML=3/1), #8 MAGIC LIFE (ML=5/1),

IRISH VICTORY - May 20th is the last time we've seen this filly around. Have to be a little bit leery. NEW WAYS TO DREAM - 3/1 odds isn't enough for this horse when looking at the most recent efforts. Tough to wager on this entrant running out of the one slot. Her pps show that she doesn't run well out of there. MAGIC LIFE - Tough to put your cash on this speedball. Too much speed in the race.
