Lee pitched well against the Yankees after two bad starts, but even in that one, his velocity was down from last season. Meanwhile, Bannister has been at Omaha and has historically pitched well against the Indians, but in reality, he is just a soft tosser who is filling a spot because Horacio Ramirez could not get anyone out.

New Orleans was a trendy preseason pick to be a force in the West. They came out of nowhere a year ago, overachieved, than added a key offseason piece in James Posey, fresh off a title with Boston. On paper, they looked even better. But the games aren't played on paper and this is not 2008. The Hornets have been major disappointments, because of injuries and lackluster play, especially on the road (21-20). All of that was on display in game 1, a 113-84 disaster. Chauncey Billups made eight 3-pointers and scored a game-high 36 points. The Nuggets on Sunday night in Game 1 of the Western Conference playoffs manned up rather well against the Hornets, limiting New Orleans to 37.2 percent (29-of-78) shooting. Denver is red hot, on a 9-4 ATS run and home where they play their best basketball. Play the Nuggets.
