          4 UNIT PLAY

Baltimore /Texas over 11: The Over is 10-4-1 in Rangers last 15 games vs. a right-handed starter, while the Over is 41-19-4 in Orioles last 64 games vs. a left-handed starter. Both teams have the potetial to score plenty of runs as Texas is 3rd in scoring at 6.1 rpg, while Blatimore is 9th in scoring at 5.5 rpg and today those offenses will take aim at some crappy pitching. Matt Harrison has made 18 career starts and he has 6.04 ERA in those starts. An interesting side note is that despite the poor ERA he has a winning 9-5 record and that has translated into his games averaging 14.3 rpg. Matt has faced the O's once here and that game put up 22 runs. Jeremy Guthrie has a winning record this year, despite his 5.16 ERA, as 11.3 rpg have been scored in his starts. Jeremy has faced the Rangers at home twice and 12 rpg have been scored in those games. Yesterday 13 runs were scored by these teams and I see this one exceding that number as both offenses will have a field day vs some bad pitching.

          3 UNIT PLAY

Kansas City/ Toronto Over 9: The Over is 6-0 in Blue Jays last 6 during game 1 of a series, while the Over is 8-1-1 in Bannisters last 10 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance and 4-1-1 in his last 6 starts overall. David Purcey has just 16 career starts, but he has an ERA of 5.67 in those starts and that includes a 6.10 ERA in his 4 starts this year. David's starts have averaged 12.3 rpg overall and 12 rpg on the road. Brian Bannister didn't allow a run in his first start, but he does have a 5.79 ERA in 1 starts vs the Jays. The Royals are not a great offensive team, but they should have good success vs Purcey today, while Toronto's top ranked scoring offense should get enough runs to push this one over the total.

          2 UNIT PLAY

Chicago +126 over ARIZONA: The Cubs are 10-2 in Lillys last 12 starts during game 1 of a series, while the Diamondbacks are 1-7 in their last 8 games vs. a left-handed starter. The Cubs broke a 4 game slide with a big win over the Cards yesterday and they should make it 2 in a row here. Ted Lilly has pitched well for the Cubs this year, as he is 2-1 with a 2.41 ERA, while in 8 games vs lefty starters the D-Backs are scoring just 2 rpg and hitting just .171 vs them. Pitiful. cubs should take this one easily.

          1 UNIT PLAY

PHILADELPHIA -1.5 (+120) Over Washington: I think that 9th inning vs the Marlins on Friday really jumpstarted the phils offense as they have now scored 26 runs in their last 19 innings. Now they faced the 22nd ranked staff and their hot hitting should continue. Joe Blanton has not had a good start, but the Phils bats will give him plenty of run support as they win easily.

                          Scott Rickenbach

2* (Top Play) New Orleans Hornets (-) vs Denver

If the Hornets were ever going to quit on their season, they had the perfect opportunity in Game Three. They got down huge early in that game. The Hornets had already been blown out in each of the first two games of this series and they were quickly down by a double digit margin to Denver in Game Three even though the game was in New Orleans! However, the Hornets definitely showed there was no way they were going to quit against these Nuggets and, in fact, they were the team that had the double digit lead when it mattered most – late in the fourth quarter. The final score showing the Hornets hanging on for a two point non-covering win doesn’t do justice to how well New Orleans played considering some key issues. Tyson Chandler was in foul trouble and the Hornets big man spent much of the game on the bench and ended up fouling out after just 18 minutes of floor time. His absence hurt the New Orleans defense and rebounding. Still, it was guys like veteran James Posey that stepped up but note that even Posey than missed some key time as his absence was due to a minor knee injury. He’s ready to go again tonight and so too are the Hornets!

Even though New Orleans has shortened their playing rotation to eight players and this has increased the number of minutes for the starters, note how well the bench responded in Game Three. The Hornets bench had a combined +/- rating of +30. By contrast, the Nuggets bench had a combined -37 +/- rating. As you can see, the move to a shorter rotation paid big dividends for coach Byron Scott and his group! Much is being made of how many minutes All Star guard Chris Paul is being asked to play but, keep in mind, this will be just the fourth Hornets game in the last 12 days. They had a little break after the regular season. The Hornets also got another break when this series shifted from Denver to New Orleans as there was an extra off-day tossed in between Games Two and Three. The point is that Paul can, and will, go the whole tonight if he has to and he nearly did just that in Game Three! The Hornets are fired up to even this series up at two games apiece and they have a lot of momentum (and confidence!) from the way they responded in Game Three! They won Saturday even without much help from Chandler and tonight he’ll have fresh legs and be ready to contribute much more as he shouldn’t be dealt the same foul trouble issues again. Including this series, note that Western Conference Playoff teams are 12-3 (80%) so far in this post-season. This makes laying the small number with the Hornets even more appealing as home court continues to play a big role in the West.

                            Play: Over 185.5

I was very fortunate to bet the over early and cash in on Game 3, as it closed at 187 in most places.
If not for a disastrous 1st quarter start where they combined for only 34 points, the game hits the 200's easily.I'm coming right back with the over here. I think there's no question we will see a game that will hit the 200's or close to it anyway.Once things got going their last game, the second quarter had 45 points. And the second half hit for 106. I think that will be the norm in this game.Too many playmakers, and Atlanta will have to come with their offensive "A" game trying not to down 3-1 in the series.Miami has put up 108, and 107 the last two. Atlanta can't cover them defensively.

4-Unit Play Take Utah +12½ Over LA Lakers

The best thing that could have happened for this line was the Jazz getting blown out on their home court on Saturday. Now that leaves the Lakers laying another 11+ line and they have been terrible in this situation this season. They are 11-19 ATS this season when being favored by 12 points or more. The Jazz is a better team than this and we feel this is a very public line. Also, this is a proud team and we think they will give a solid effort tonight after getting pounded at home even though they realize this series is all but over. The Jazz have only been this large of an underdog twice this season and both in this series and we think that they keep this one within double digits tonight.
