    Craig Trapp

    -=TOP PLAY=- NBA | May 14
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Houston Rockets Los Angeles Lakers -8-108

OK, finally we are on a free play run of winners in a row. Yesterday made three days in a row that Handicapper Craig Trapp hit his free play. Today we look to extend free play streak to 4 with our NBA free Winner!! Lets look at the trends and winning breakdown.

    Betting Trends

LAL are 7-2 ATS in the last 9 meetings.

LAL are 9-3 ATS in the last 12 meetings in Houston.

Rockets are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games.

Rockets are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 1 days rest.

Kobe and company came out in Game 4 and sent a statement that they are not going to mess with the shorthanded Rockets. Houston plays so much better at home but if the Lakers come out motivated they can't play with LA. Houston on only one days rest with travel on that day could really get worn down in this game 6. The injuries finally catch up to the overachieving Rockets and they fall apart in the 2nd of game 6. Kobe takes a back seat in this game as the inside big guys carry the load. SCORE LAL 99 - HOU 84

Guaranteed Pick: Tom Freese 10* over/under

Game: Detroit Tigers at Minnesota Twins May 14 2009 1:10PM
    Prediction: under
Reason: Detroit starter Justin Verlander has a better than 6-1 strikeout to walk ratio in his last 3 starts. The Tigers are 7-1-1 UNDER their last 9 games and they are 6-1 UNDER their last 7 road games. Detroit is 6-0-1 UNDER vs. a pitcher with a WHIP of over 1.30. Minnesota starter Scott Baker has an 8-1 strikeout to walk ratio in his last 3 starts. The Twins are 4-1 UNDER vs. winning teams and they are 5-1 UNDER in Baker's last 6 Thursday starts. 10* PLAY ON 'UNDER' (Verlander vs. Baker)

              Baseball’s Best Bets

New York Yankees (-134) over Toronto Blue Jays

Both the Blue Jays and Yankees hit LHP well. But the Jays get LHP CC Sabathia and the Yankees get LHP Brian Tallet. Sabathia has pitched well in his appearances in Toronto and looked like he turned a corner in his last outing and my confidence in Tallet is not high. If you like Tallet or if you are one of those people who think Sabathia is not the same this year, stay away from this game.

Florida Marlins (+110) over Milwaukee Brewers

The Marlins are 6-1 this year when Josh Johnson starts and 9-1 in his last 10 starts. That includes 4-0 on the road. David Bush is tough in Milwaukee and the Brewers are 5-1 in his last 6 home starts so there’s a reason the Brewers are favored here. However, Johnson is proving to be a top-tier talent. The bullpens are a wash and both lineups are capable of exploding so this one might be close.

                            triple-dime bet 743 LAL -8.0 (-110) SportBet vs 744 HOU
Analysis: There are two different approaches to take in this game. The first theory is that Houston will play much more motivated and focused in this game because they are back at home and were embarrassed in their last game. The second theory is that Houston simply cannot overcome their injuries and that the Lakers will continue their success in Game 6. I am going with the second approach, and I will explain why. One of the biggest reasons for Houston?s success in Game 4 was Aaron Brooks huge offensive performance, as well as a strong effort from Shane Battier. However, Los Angeles shut down Brooks in Game 5, as they came up with an excellent defensive game plan. I look for them to use the same strategy in Game 6. The biggest key from Game 5 was Phil Jackson?s strategy to use both of his big men on the court at the same time. Houston simply cannot defend a line-up with Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum on the floor at the same time, as Yao Ming?s absence is dearly missed, especially without back-up center Dikembe Mutombo. Those big men opened up the rest of the offense for the Lakers outside shooters, specifically Kobe Bryant. Los Angeles has also proven that they can win in dominating fashion in Houston. The¬ Lakers brought a motivated effort in Game 3, resulting in a 14 point road win. I look for Los Angeles to play tough defense once again, which will result in several Houston turnovers and fast break opportunities. All of the quotes coming from the Lakers players show that they have learned their lesson from two losses in this series, and I don?t expect them to let it happen again. Look for them to blowout Houston and clinch the series.
