INDIAN COWBOY'S PLAY OF THE DAY: INDIANA FEVER vs MINNESOTA LYNX

Play: 6 Unit Play. Take the Indiana Fever -2.5 over the Minnesota Lynx (Thursday @ 7pm est)(POD)
Comments: INDIAN COWBOY'S PLAY OF THE DAY: 6 Unit Play. Take the Indiana Fever -2.5 over the Minnesota Lynx (Thursday @ 7pm est). The Fever have two things going for them in this game. For starters, this team has revenge against the Lynx for an ugly 74-96 loss they suffered to them back on June 7th. The Fever also come off just their 5th loss of the year at LA where they simply did not play well and ran into a very good Sparks defense that is healthy again. I look for the Fever to get their revenge and bounce-back from their just fifth loss of the year as this team is very well coached and remember, this is the same team that has not lost back to back games all year long. I love the fact that the Fever come off the loss to the Sparks as it was likely a letdown from their big win over Phoenix on the road in the game just prior. The Lynx are not a bad team by any means, but I do not see them scoring 96 points on the Indiana defense once again today as there will be changes made coming into this game. The Lynx do come off a loss, but they are 3-7 over their last 10 and since the injury to Seimone Augustus, this team has not been as dynamic. The Fever are 5-1 ATS when playing on two days rest and the Lynx are 1-7 ATS over their last 8 games.

INDIAN COWBOY'S PLAY OF THE DAY: KC ROYALS vs MINNESOTA TWINS

Play: 4 Unit Play. Take Under 9 between the Twins vs. Royals (Thursday @ 1:10pm est).(POD)
Comments: INDIAN COWBOY'S PLAY OF THE DAY: 4 Unit Play. Take Under 9 between the Twins vs. Royals (Thursday @ 1:10pm est). Gil Meche comes off a start where he was rocked in Fenway for six runs in less than four innings against the Redsox. He has been a solid bounce-back all year and he looks to bounce-back against the Twins on the road.
Although he pitched well, the Twins defeated him 1-5 as he gave up 2 runs in 6 innings. I suspect he will have a similar solid outing as he looks to avenge that loss and he comes into the game on a bounce-back.
Since coming over from the Indians, Pavano is looking to continue to pitch well for his new ballclub. I suspect he will have another solid effort based on that. Pavano was rocked by the Royals earlier this year for 9 runs and he is in a similar boat with Meche. They are both looking for revenge so to speak and as Meche comes off a bounce-back, Pavano looks to help his new ballclub in just his second start for them this year. The Under is 9-3-1 for Meche against the AL Central and the Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams

5 Unit Play. #657 Take Over 177 ½ San Antonio at Phoenix (Thursday 8/13 10:05 PM)

(Game of the Week) The Phoenix Mercury are coming off a loss at home to Indiana and when the Mercury are coming off a loss they are averaging 94.8ppg. Tonight we should see Phoenix running and scoring to get back on the winning side of the ball. San Antonio is 7-1 O/U in their last 8 games. Phoenix is 20-7 O/U in their last 27 home games.

                      The Bottom Line:
                      Take Rockies -1.5 @ -110 4-DIME POD
Well we are going to rebound here today with the Rockies run line. This is a complete mismatch in my opinion as Maholm goes up against Marquis. I'm not just talking about the obvious pitching mismatch of ERA etc.

Rockies are more than a run better during the day than the Pirates are as the Pirates are hitting .13 lower than they are at night and creating just 4.07 runs per 9 innings. They won't get much help as they go up against Jason Marquis who is 6-1 in 8 starts this season with a 2.79 ERA. Seems as though his sinker ball is really working during the day so we should see a dominant start from him. I also like the fact that he gave up 5 ER in his last start and in poor starts this year he usually bounces back big. 7 ER followed by 0 ER, 9 ER followed by 1 ER and 6 ER followed by 3 ER. I look for him to do the same against a Pirates lineup that has an average of .233 and are scoring just 3.97 runs per 9 innings vs. RHP on the road. In fact they are just 8-20 vs. RH starters in their last 28 and they are 1-8 in their last 9 visits to Coors Field. The Rockies will face a LHP which is good news for them particularly at home.

Maholm will make the start vs. the Rockies and I don't think he is looking forward to facing them as they have a collective .366 average in 93 AB. Maholm won't go long in this game and it's not good for a bullpen that has a 8.78 ERA last 5 and a 7.31 ERA last 10. They haven't had a starter go more than 5 innings so they may have to leave Maholm out their to take a beating because I can't see him having a quality start when the Rockies have success in the past and a .321 average scoring 8.32 runs at home vs. LHP. If you need more convincing Pirates are just 8-43 in their last 51 as a dog of +201 or more

                              Thursday, August 13th, 2009 10:10 p.m. est.

New York Yankees (71-43) at Seattle Mariners (60-54)
                              (L) CC Sabathia (12-7) vs. (R) Ian Snell (0-0)

The Yankees have beaten the Mariners in 11 of the last 14 meetings, but have had problems in Seattle, just 2-5 in their last 7 games at Safeco Field. Then again, CC Sabathia (12-7, 3.76) will try to win his third straight start. The right-hander is 4-1 with a 2.83 ERA in seven starts at Safeco Field.
New York has won nine of their last 10 games and their high scoring offense could be tough on Seattle's struggling veteran Ian Snell (0-0, 6.14). The right-hander was dreadful last Saturday, allowed three runs on two hits and six walks in just 1 1/3 innings against the Rays. Snell will make his first start against the NY Yankees. Go with the hot Yanks with CC Sabathia on the hill.

                              New York Yankees -200

                                Redskins/Ravens Under 31.5

Both teams are recognized for their defensive play before offense, The Redskins O-Line is banged up and will be playing in a very tough stadium against a team that prides themselves on tough home defense. Jason Campbell wont play to long nor will the rest of the Redskins offensive starters. I just do not see Washington putting up many points. The Ravens on offense will be without a few key receivers and tight ends. I do not see the Baltimore backup QB's doing much. The Ravens have lost Matt Stover and will be going with a guy who is unproven in that category. This will be a huge lost this year for Baltimore who is always a team that has settled for 3pts opposed getting the ball in the endzone for 7. With a new kicker they might chew up a lot of clock this year and come up with zero points.

                                Take the Under.
