    Today's Pick: TULSA

    CFB
    Boise State vs. Tulsa
    8:00 EST

OK...Boise St. is everyones play tonight, Vegas just does not give cash away, this is a contrarian play. Look at the numbers and while they favor Boise State, they stats are pretty close. Tulsa was beaten badly by Oklahoma on the road, their only loss. Look at the last 2 years here, and this game has beena tight one, a 3 point game last year in Boise. Tulsa has a capable QB in Kinne and they are 10-1 ATS their last 11 at home. This is Boises States final real test in conference action and simply put, I do not think they walk out of Tulsa withiout a fight. Boise State has RB issues. Although they are the better team, these mid week games are always tough. Tulsa defense is tough against the run and allows just 16 ppg, and Boise St allows just 12. Both teams have explosive offensesw. With an offense that can trade punches and a more than decent defense, and at home, I am grabbing the points.

Play 1 Unit on Tulsa. Thanks and good luck.

6* Widow Wiseguy Boise State/Tulsa ESPN ATS BLOOD BATH on Boise State -9.5(-103 at 5dimes)

The Broncos have been a covering machine this decade, and the odds makers continue to fail to adjust their lines properly. They are 12-2 ATS in all games over the last 2 seasons alone. Boise State is not favored by enough points tonight as they'll crush Tulsa on the road. The Broncos need style points for any chance to be in the National Championship game, and a blowout win over a decent Golden Hurricane team will give them those style points they need. Boise is 7-0 ATS (+7.0 Units) in road games after a win by 17 or more points over the last 2 seasons. Boise is 6-0 ATS (+6.0 Units) in road games after allowing 125 or less rushing yards in 2 straight games over the last 3 seasons. The Broncos are 6-0 ATS (+6.0 Units) after a game where they committed 1 or less turnovers over the last 2 seasons. THe Broncos are 7-0 ATS (+7.0 Units) in road games after 3 consecutive game where they committed 1 or less turnovers since 1992. Boise is 7-0 ATS (+7.0 Units) in road games over the last 2 seasons. That's a 33-0 ATS Angle backing the Broncos tonight. This team just plays the game the right way. They are outscoring opponents by 26 points/game behind a balanced attack on offense that rushes for 192 yards/game and throws for 248 yards/game. Tulsa has played a very easy shedule, with the exception of a road game at Oklahoma where they lost 45-0. Boise is the same caliber team as the Sooners with a defense that can shut down this Tulsa offense. It's inevitable that the Broncos run away with this one by game's end. Take Boise State and lay the points.

Normally you’d leap at a home dog like Tulsa. This team’s gone 21-7 SU the last two seasons and are off to a 4-1 start this year. If you go back even further the Golden Hurricanes are an eye-popping 44-17 SU since late in the ’04 season.

But Boise’s simply steam-rolling people these days. Since late in 2001 Boise’s an astounding 87-11 SU. They’ve already whipped what appears to be a very solid Oregon team and a Fresno team (by 17 points) which lost to 5-1 Wisconsin and 5-0 Cincy by a total of 11 points.

Tulsa’s beaten 4 total mutts (2-3 Tulane, 0-6 New Mexico, 0-6 Rice and I-AA Sam Houston).

Their only “major” opponent; Oklahoma, walloped them 45-0 with their backup QB starting. I’m very concerned this Tulsa team isn’t up to the standards of recent editions which Boise, behind the country’s second most efficient passer (Kellen Moore) just continues to kick tail and take names.

Last night we faded the public and now tonight we will side with them. This is a great spot to catch Dallas in tonight. Nashville is 2-8 last 10 on Wednesday and 1-9 away on Wednesday in the last 10 games. Dallas is 15-4 SU in its last 19 games when playing at home against Nashville.

                    *200 Chicago Blackhawks Over 6
I am taking the Blackhawks and Oilers over the total tonight. I have the Blackhawks as going over the total in 8 of their last 12 games. I also have the Oilers going over in 9 of thier last 13 road games. Also, we have the Blackhawks as going over 5 of their last 5 games at home. Finally, we have the Oilers as 7-3 over their last 10 games vs the Northwestern division. Take the over for the win.

                    *200 Boise State -8

Number 5 ranked Boise St comes into Tulsa on Wednesday night to face probably their toughest opponent remaining on their schedule. The Golden Hurricanes are 0-4 all-time against the Broncos. I have so many trends pointing to a Boise State victory that it almost scares me. Here are a few of those trends. Boise State is 7-1 ATS in its last 8 games on the road. The League is 1-8 ATS (-11.8 ppg) since October 26, 2007 as a home dog vs. Boise State. The League is 2-10 ATS (-10.5 ppg) since November 18, 2006 as a dog vs. Boise State after an away game. Tulsa is 0-4 ATS (-18.6 ppg) since September 21, 2007 as a dog after a win. Tulsa is also 2-7 ATS (-13.9 ppg) since November 23, 1996 as a dog after a win on the road. I also have Boise as 9-0 ATS since 2002 in game 6 and when they won their previous game and they are a favorite of less than -11 points. Take the better team on the road tonight. Without a doubt Boise State is a higher caliber team that will be focused to play tonight.

The Public is all over Boise St tonight because of their #5 ranking and media hype. Vegas just does not give cash away, this is a contrarian play. This is a RARE Nationally televised Primetime game for them.
This game includes a PERFECT 19-0 ATS angle. Here, what we want to do is play on any home dog of more than 7 points, if it's off back-to-back wins, has a win percentage between .701 and .832, and scored 25+ in its most recent game. Tulsa is 4-1 this season, and its only loss came at Oklahoma, 45-0 as an 18-point underdog. Otherwise, the Golden Hurricane have been solid, as they've gone 2-0-1 ATS with one game off the board. Tulsa has won its last two games vs. Sam Houston (56-3) and Rice (27-10) so it falls squarely within our 19-0 system (which hasn't lost in 29 seasons).

By now, everyone is well aware of Boise State's great home record (66-2 straight-up since 1999; 40-17 ATS). But when the Broncos take to the road, they are definitely beatable, as evidenced by their 14-15-1 ATS record since 2003, including a poor 0-6 ATS as a favorite of more than 7 points vs. a foe off a win. In its last game, against unheralded Cal-Davis, Boise looked nothing like the 5th-ranked team in the country. It was held to a season-low 101 rushing yards, and only defeated Cal Davis by 18 points, 34-16. That's not the kind of effort a team wants to have as it goes into Chapman Stadium to take on Tulsa's high-octane offense. The Golden Hurricane have the seventh-ranked QB in the country in G.J. Kinne (1142 yds, 10 TDs, 2 Interceptions), and have won 13 of their last 14 at home.

Boise State has RB issues and injuries. Also, Tulsa defense is tough against the run and allows just 16 ppg, and I expect a tough hard battle late into the 4th quarter and we'll back the home underdog tonight!
