Note: The Yankees got some relief last night with a close win over the Mets and their Bullpen needed that strong performance from Vazquez as they have been throwing a lot of innings of late. That gives the Bronx Boys 4 straight wins of the Mets in this interleague series. The Mets are still not performing that well in a lot of areas but they are still getting good pitching from their second line throwers and they ha€ve gotten great work from Pelfrey here at Citi Field where he is 3-0 in 5 starts with an ERA of 2.61. The Yankees more than likely will be without Thames again and already have Granderson on the DL. With the addition of the Non-DH Rule, this offense is not likely to be quite as potent, and the fact is, on the road this year, they are just 3 games over the .500 mark and prior to last night, had won just once in their last 5 tries in this situation. That means that they have failed to win by more than one run 6 of the last 7 on the road. The Mets season has not been up to snuff, but here at Citi Field they have been very competitive at 14-9 this year, and 4 of those losses were by 1 run as well. That gives us a High Percentage Play here today according to my numbers regardless of who is on the mound and there is no significant difference in the two starters. Certainly not enough to matter. Mets bats have been much more active of late as well. My MLB Model spits out a percentage based on +1.5 Runs and it says that the Mets will win or lose by 1 run at just over 60% of the time. I have to agree with that summation here today.
