Doc Rivers, who was well-known for his defense as a player in the NBA has his squad playing impressive defense at the right time. Clearly, Boston is the better team, outplaying the baffled Magic. I believe the Celtics end this series tonight at the Garden.

The Angels send Joe Saunders our to face Brent Cecil in a battle of lefties in Anaheim, after a weekend of tough interleague play for both teams. Saunders has certainly not impressed so far this season and got shelled in both of his last 2 outings. Cecil has shown some solid effort with 8 and 10 strikeouts in 2 of his last 3 starts. The Blue Jays have been exceptional on grass fields this season at 14-7 and up over 9 units ATS. In a day where the board is pretty bare, we like Cecil to dominate the struggling Angels.

Pirates (+159) over Reds - The Reds are 2-7 when Harang is on the mound while Burres is 4-1 while on the road. The Reds are on fire but today's game is their first home game off a two series road trip. The Pirates are heavy dogs and will be looking to turn things around.

Red Sox (+122) over Devil Rays - The Red Sox had a great series against the Phillies -- winning their last two games and getting their offense energized. The Devil Rays are coming off a two game road series and that is always tough to do when your last series was against an interleague team.

Indians (+143) over White Sox - The longer a team stays at home, the better. There is no jet lag, no road weariness factoring in at all. All the while, the White Sox are in the first game of a road series having traveled yesterday and also being shut out. Bad position for them to be in considering they are heavy favorites.

INSIDER ANGLES
We have been saying all along that the Boston Celtics are a better team than the Orlando Magic no matter how the teams played during the regular season.

Well, after the Celtics dismantled the Magic 94-71 on Saturday to take a seemingly insurmountable 3-0 series lead, is there now any doubt? Of course, the price we are paying is that we are now being asked to lay twice as many points as we were in Game 3, when Boston -3.5 did indeed turn out to be a gift from the gods.

Still, we have no qualms about the -7 here either, as we are looking for yet another double-digit home win as the Celtics wrap up thus sweep in emphatic fashion. Boston is simply peaking at the perfect time, as their suffocating defense has now allowed less then 90 points in five of the last six games, and they only surrendered 91 points in the other one!

Because of that stifling defense, Orlando’s shooting has gotten progressively worse in this series. The Magic shot 41.6 percent in Game 1, 39.4 percent in Game 2 and then a woeful 36.9 percent in Game 3. Even worse was the Orlando body language on Saturday, as the Magic appeared to quit very early when they got sown by double-digits.

We would not be surprised if Boston gets off to another fast start on Monday, and if Orlando displays the same lack of heart as they did on Saturday night, that may be all the Celtics need to do to go on to yet another double-digit triumph to salt away this series.
