Saturday's Note



Ended my personal betting week, which runs Saturday through Friday, with a flourish last night by going 4-1 with 5 dime release, scoring not only with the Celtics in Game 6, but also with the Brewers, Mariners and completing a series winner on Boston as well. The lone loser was Colorado on the Run Line as a +130 home dog so the net profit for the night was +15 dimes, leaving me with a profit for the week of +37 dimes.



Today's card is simply not that strong. In fact, there's nothing attractive at all in baseball. I thought about backing the Mariners, but instead opted to take a pass in baseball and instead focus on Game 6 in the Phoenix-LA series with another 5 Dime side selection, a play just as strong as last night's winner on the Celtics.



As you know, I'm a big believer in the fact that the biggest mistake gamblers mistake is forcing plays when none exist to be made. And the biggest atrocity committed by scumbags in this industry is forcing plays just to make money for themselves. I don't do either and won't let anyone at these sites get away with it as well.






ANALYSIS



The Lakers could have dealt a crushing blow to Phoenix's confidence with a double-digit blowout rout in Game 5 at home. And that's exactly what they looked to be in the process of doing before an epic fourth-quarter collapse Thursday not only cost them the cover but nearly the game. If not for Ron Artest's rebound and follow-up of Kobe's airball as time expirnd, LA could have been looking at overtime. Even so, they gave the Suns hope and rebuilt their confidence coming home for tonight's do-or-die elimination game. And that's dangerous considering how well Phoenix played at home in its Games 3 and 4 routs of Los Angeles.



The home team is a perfect 5-0 SU so far in the series and in a virtual pick-em affair it's hard not to back the Suns considercing their bench and the fact the Lakers simply haven't performed well on the road throughout the postseason with the exception of Game 6 at Oklahoma City and parts of Games 3 and 4 at Utah against the short-handed, injury-riddled Jazz.



Phoenix shot a blisternng 58% from the field in Games 3 and 4 at home, scoring 128 and 124 points in those contests, using its zone defense and superior bench to confuse and confound the Lakers offensively.



With the Suns having reeled of six straight playoff victories at home, it's hard not to back them again at their near pick-em price.

It's really hard to side with the Under if you've been following
this series. The number of explosive offensive players on display
is incredible... in the long range shooting, the low post, behind
the arc, and the passing...and that can all pretty much shoot
free throws.
In these elimination games, teams will go all out, and it
often leads to those crazy game ending scoring frenzies.
Both teams are getting to the line and making the FT's, which
is a nice help for the over. Basically, the clock is stopped and
there's scoring.
The Lakers have gone Under just twice in their last 13 playoff
games, and under in just two of their last 13 away games.
The Suns have gone Under in just 2 of their last 9 playoff
games and in 9 of their last 11 games here in Phx.
Not seeing much reason for the paces to change for either
team, and it's really hard to think under the way these teams
have been duking it out offensively. We'll go with the flow.

Phoenix has led by seven and nine points at the half in its two home games in this series.
