Manny Ramirez takes a rest today which won't help a Dodgers lineup that has scored three runs or less in four of ther last six games. Consider that Colorado starter Jhoulys Chacin has already beaten the Dodgers once this season, an 8-0 Rockies win in LA, and you can see why I'm on the Rockies today. Chacin was sharp in that game striking out seven in 7 1/3 innings of work.

Clayton Kershaw has pitched well lately but he has an awful background at Coors Field where he's 2-2 with a 6.92 ERA in five starts. You can expect Colorado slugger Brad Hawpe to hit well today; he's 4-11 with two runs against Kershaw

(won Saturday with Duke +1.5 vs. Virginia. Predicted 13-12 and it was 14-13.)

Duke vs. Notre Dame (Monday lacrosse final)

Notre Dame +1.5 goals

Notre Dame beat Duke 11-7 in Durham, NC back in late February. Duke likes to play fast with a good offense (Crotty, Max Quinzani) and Notre Dame wants to get into a defensive battle with their star goalie, Scott Rodgers, who is 6'4" and 250 pounds. The Irish have won three impressive games in the tournament over Princeton (8-5), Maryland (7-5) and Cornell (12-7). That's just 17 goals in the three matches. It should be hot on Monday afternoon and Duke is a deep team that could get ahead and make Notre Dame play from behind but I like the chance of a close game ending with an 8-7 score. Play ND +1.5 goals.
