Kansas City (Greinke) -145 at Seattle (Rowland-Smith)
    Recommendation: Kansas City

All of a sudden, the Kansas City Royals are starting to play some pretty good baseball. Since reaching their low point of 14 games under .500 two weeks ago, the Royals have won eight of their last eleven behind a combination of solid pitching and timely hitting. KC took two out of three in LA against the Angels to open up their road trip, and then rallied to win again in extra innings here in Seattle last night. KC has legitimate momentum right now, giving us a prime opportunity to cash supporting them here. Zack Greinke is clearly back in the Cy Young form he showed last year. He’s got a 26:2 strikeout-to-walk ratio in his last four starts. Greinke has a 1.86 ERA in seven career starts against the Mariners.

                  Tuesday, July 6th, 10:05 ET

Play NY at Oakland Under – great pitching matchup tonight in Oakland with Sabathia facing Cahill. CC is getting into one of those groves as in his last three starts he’s been nearly unhittable with a 0.75 ERA. Meanwhile, Oakland’s Cahill doesn’t get much publicity but he’s quietly put up a 10-3 team start record and 2.74 ERA. At home he’s been very tough with a 1.35 ERA. CC faced these A’s once this season way back in April and he went eight innings and allowed only four hits and three earned runs. He was a bit wild allowing six walks but that was early in the season. CC’s on his game and we don’t see the A’s putting up many runs on him tonight. This will be the first time the Yankees face this tough righty and don’t see them scoring many runs. These two teams played a low scoring game last night and it will be another under tonight. Good Luck, Lenny Del Genio

                  Play on: Under

                      Today's Complimentary Play

3 in a row for free after the Rays came back on Monday!

For Tuesday, take the Yankees on the RUN LINE to deliver another win at Oakland.

Last night the Yanks were able to win it 3-1, as they have now won 3 of the 4 season series meetings against the A's, ALL 3 wins coming by 2 runs or better.

CC Sabathia is rolling right now, and sports a 0.75 ERA for his last 3 starts, and is also 3-1 his last 5 starts against Oakland.

Trevor Cahill has also been in a groove, and the Oakland hurler is 8-2 with a season ERA under 3. Problem is, this could be another 3-1 final in the favor of New York.

Like the value the Yankees present on the RUN LINE tonight, so take them!

                      2? YANKEES RUN LINE

                      MATT RIVERS

Take the Blue Jays as the home dog over the Twins.

I know Carl Pavano has had a good season so far, but he hasn’t enjoyed any success against Toronto in his career, especially on the road.
Pavano is 1-3 with an 8.69 ERA in his last four starts against the Blue Jays, all on the road. The right-hander is 3-5 with a 6.22 ERA in 10 career games against Toronto overall.
The Blue Jays have won 15 of 19 versus the Twins and 12 of 16 at home. Toronto starter Jesse Litsch is 3-0 with a 3.10 ERA in five career starts against them.

Take Toronto for the home win.

                      3? TORONTO on a 1? to 5? Scale

                      JEFF BENTON

For Tuesday, we’ll stay on the West Coast but switch to the National League and take the big plus money with the Marlins over the Dodgers.
Florida has found a second home in Los Angeles in recent years, winning nine of their last 13 games at Dodger Stadium dating to 2006 after Monday’s 6-5 victory. And since a 7-3 home loss on April 9 in the first meeting this season, Florida has taken three straight from L.A. to improve to 9-5 overall in this rivalry since July 2008.
Then again, the Dodgers have struggled mightily outside their division this season. They’re an astounding 23-6 against N.L. West rivals, but 18-20 otherwise, including 4-10 against the N.L. East. Also, with Manny Ramirez in the lineup, Los Angeles is 29-20; without the slugger (who is on the DL at least through the end of the All-Star break), the Boys in Blue are 16-16.
As for the pitching matchup, you’ve got Dodgers right-hander Vicente Padilla looking for his third consecutive quality start (he’s gone seven innings in his last two games and allowed a combined three runs, nine hits and two walks). However, L.A. is just 2-6 in Padilla’s last eight starts going back to the 2009 NLCS, and that includes a 7-6 loss at Florida on April 10 (Padilla allowed four runs in 4 1/3 innings).
Meanwhile, Florida’s Chris Volstad (4-7, 4.45 ERA) has definitely had issues with consistency this year, but he’s got a power right arm and he’s been decent in four starts against Los Angeles (11 earned runs allowed in 26 1/3 innings, a 3.76 ERA).

                      (based on a 1? to a 10? Rating)

                      5? FLORIDA MARLINS

                      CHUCK OBRIEN

                      CHUCK OBRIEN

Tuesday’s complimentary release comes from the N.L. Central, as I’ll take the road-underdog Pirates at Houston.
First of all, take a look at the records of these teams – Pittsburgh is 30-52, while Houston is 32-51, meaning just a 1½ games separate these squads in the Central standings. And the Pirates actually enter this series as the hotter team. They just took three of four at home from the two-time defending N.L. champion Phillies, and they’ve won four of five and five of seven. Meanwhile, the Astros just lost three straight games to the Padres (scoring a grand total of two runs), and they’ve dropped 15 of their last 22 games.
You have to like the progress Pittsburgh rookie pitcher Brad Lincoln is making, too. After giving up five runs in each of his first two starts against the Nationals and White Sox, Lincoln has allowed just six earned runs in his last three outings covering 19 innings (2.84 ERA), leading the Pirates two victories. Lincoln’s best big-league start so far came in Wednesday’s 2-0 win at Wrigley Field, as he scattered four hits and one walk in seven innings. The right-hander has now gone at least six innings in every start. True, Astros lefty Wandy Rodriguez is coming off two impressive wins over the Giants and Brewers, giving up just three runs (one earned) in 13 innings. However, Houston is still just 6-10 in his 16 starts this season and he remains only 2-3 with a 4.62 ERA at home.
Both teams were idle on Monday, and while Pittsburgh has been solid following a day off (13-6 last 19), the Astros have been anything but (8-24 last 32). Houston has also dropped 52 of 77 to right-handed starters and 23 of 33 series openers.

                      2? PITTSBURGH PIRATES (on a 1? to 5? scale)

                      Michael Cannon, Featured Handicapper

I’m now 71-64 with my last 135 free plays.
Take the Pirates for the road win over the Astros.
I know Pittsburgh has had little success at Minute Maid Park, but the Buccos are actually playing decent ball right now.
The Pirates have won four out of their last five, including three of four from Philadelphia. They are getting good production from their core group of youngsters that were recently recalled from Triple-A, Pedro Alvarez, Jose Tabata, Neil Walker and tonight’s starter Brad Lincoln.Lincoln is coming off his first major league win on Wednesday. The right-hander struck out six in seven shutout innings of the 2-0 win over the Cubs.Houston lost three of four at San Diego despite a series in which its starters allowed just three earned runs in 25 2-3 innings.
Take the Pirates for the road win.

                      3? PITTSBURGH

                      Derek Mancini, Featured Handicapper

Nice hit with the White Sox over the Angels 9-2 Monday! This time we're going after a little plus money with the Nationals hosting the Padres in the opener of their 3-game set tonight.Bettors see Clayton Richard (6-4, 2.74 ERA) on the road (3-1, 2.29 ERA) for this price, and immediately flock to play the Padres. Big mistake. He may have impressive numbers, but they pale in comparison to Livan Hernandez's numbers at Nationals Park (4-1, 1.75 ERA), where he's been as dominant as they come.
Padres-backers will tout Hernandez's career ERA against San Diego, but I don't buy it. The Nationals are respectable at home this season, and given the proper support, Hernandez can beat anyone in this venue. Good news for him is the Nats have hit lefties much better than righties this season (4.3 runs per game), including batting .291 against them at Nationals Park. Padres on the other hand, bat just .247 against righties on the road.
Both clubs have strong bullpens, but this one comes down to the starters. I know bettors are hot and heavy for Richard after some impressive road starts, but underestimating Hernandez at home will come back to bite you in the ass. Washington (Hernandez) over San Diego (Richard) Tuesday.

                      3? WASHINGTON

Tuesday's Action 15 DIME seleation on the Yankees-A’s game UNDER the posted total. The total here is a solid 7½ both here in Vegas and offshore. All baseeball totals require both starters to be listed for action, so New York’s CC Sabathia and Oakland’s Trevor Cahill start or this releaoe is VOID!

                                Yankees-A’s UNDER the total

CC Sabathia’s last three starts for New York: 3-0, 0.75 ERA (two earned runs in 24 innings), and the under cashed in all three games.

Trevor Cahill’s last three starts for the A’s: 2-0, 1.31 ERA (3 runs allowed in 20 2/3 innings), and the under is 2-0-1.

Sabathia’s last six starts overall: 6-0, 2.00 ERA (10 earned runs in 45 innings), and the under is 4-1-1.

Cahill’s last 12 starts overall: 8-1, 2.20 ERA (19 earned runs allowed in 77 innings), and the under is 9-2-1.

Sabathia’s last two starts on the road: 2-0, 1.80 ERA (3 earned runs allowed in 15 innings)

Cahill’s five starts at home: 4-0, 1.35 ERA (5 earned runs allowed in 33 1/3 innings), and the under cashed in all five games.

So I think I’ve estaalished that we’ve got two outstanding starting pitchers on the bump in this game, both capable of going at least seven innings tonight. Well, we’ve also got two slumping offenses going. Even before their 3-1 victory in last night’s series opener, the Yankees were batting just .238 over their previous 10 games, and they’ve now scored four runs or fewer in 19 of their last 24 road games.

The A’s have scored just 12 runs in their last five games, and they’ve tallied four runs or fewer in 25 of their last 34 games overall. The thing that’s carried Oakland has been its pitching (the A’s have yielded just 13 runs in their last five games and have held eight of their last 11 oppeonents to three runs or less).

The under is 10-3-2 in Oakland’s last 15 games overall (5-1 at home), and for the season the under is 25-14-1 in the pitcher-friendly Oakland Coliseum. Also, the under has cashed in four of New York’s last six games overall and 12 of its last 14 in American League ballparks.

Finally, these teams have now played three straight “unders” – all in Oakland (including a 4-2 A’s win over Sabathia on April 22) – and the under is 11-5-1 in the last 17 series meetings. Also, we’ve got two lights-out closers at the back end of these bullpons in the Yankees’ Mariano Rivera (1.11 ERA, 18 saves) and Oakland’s Andrew Bailey (1.59 ERA, 17 saves).

This one’s got 2-1 final written all over it. Play it low.
