        Re: 8-1-10- GC MLB play

Sunday 21-2 AL Power system play + 95% Diamond Cutter side in big NL West ESPN Game tonight. Saturday bounces back with 2-0 night, now 34 games over .500 no heavy favorites.

On Sunday the free play is on the Baltimore Orioles. Game 975 ar 2:10 eastern. The Orioles are more like the ugly ducklings here today. However they do fit a nice dog system and should have an easier time with B. Chen than they did with Z. Greinke. Chen for the Royals has hit a wall of late with a 7.94 era over his past 3 starts. The journey man lefty is more of a spot starter and has now become a regular rotation guy for KC. This alone shows why KC cant compete. The Orioles have K. Millwood on the mound. If anyone looks shot this season its Millwood. He has been hit hard all year. However he has had some sucess against KC. Over his last 3 starts vs the Royals he has pitched 17 innings allowing just 5 runs. In his last start he went 8 strong to get the win. Look for Balty to pull it out today. On Sunday I have 2 Big Power system plays. The 21-2 AL Dominator and the 95% Diamond Cutter system Side that goes on ESPN Tonight. Saturday card bounced back nicely with a 2-0 totals sweep . MLB Back to 34 games over .500. For the free play take the Orioles. GC

Today, he's back for another track attack with a five-unit plunge on Beautician to make him look good in the sixth at Saratoga. Also, he'll take a wild, 10-unit stab with Duke and the Pirates over their arch-enemies in St. Louis and put another 10 on Cain to raise some funds for The Cause.

From what Hondo hears, all went smoothly at last night's Clinton-Mezvinsky wedding, aside from one casualty. Word is the father of the bride laid out for the garter belt and ended up with a pulled hammy and strained shoulder ... Mike Puma reports that he heard "the NCAA will honor Rick Pitino next season by going to a 15-second shot clock" ... No need to worry about Snooki if "Jersey Shore" gets canceled. The Chubby Chugger should have no problem finding work on either "Celebrity Rehab" or "The Biggest Loser

Cleveland Indians vs. Toronto Blue Jays Total
                    9 under

                    FREE PLAY

Cleveland will call-up pitcher Jeanmar Gomez to make his second career start as the Indians wrap-up their series in Toronto with the Blue Jays. His first outing was outstanding as he went seven strong innings giving up two runs (zero earned) and five hits against Detroit. Gomez struck out four and walked one in the 7-2 victory. He'll face a Toronto team that struggled to get things going on Saturday. As a team, the Blue Jays have gone Under in 23 of their 40 daytime games where they hit around .245 as a unit. Gomez has impressed his manager who said "[Pitching coach Tim Belcher] said, 'That young man is not intimidated at all, he was in sync and remained calm."

Toronto’s Jesse Litsch has pitched better than his 1-4 record indicates. The righty has allowed three earned runs or less in each of his last three starts. Toronto starters have gone 9-2 with a 2.59 ERA in 15 starts since the All-Star break. They have allowed two earned runs or less in each of the team's last eight games. Litsch made a start in Cleveland back in June giving up two runs and four hits in six innings pitched to the Indians; a 3-1 win for Cleveland. Travis Hafner (0-3), Trevor Crowe (0-3), and Matt LaPorta (0-1) all look for their first hits against Litsch. The Indians have scored only 25 runs in their last 11 games. They are hitting just over .225 as a team in their last eight games with five of those games going Under the total. We expect a low-scoring game so we’ll recommend a play on the Under between the Indians and Blue Jays this afternoon.

After dropping the first 2 games of this series, I expect San Diego to take care of business in Game 3. The Padres are a perfect 4-0 in their last 4 games after losing the first 2 games of a series, 6-0 in their last 6 Sunday games and 8-1 in their last 9 during game 3 of a series. Marlins ace Josh Johnson may be on the hill, but the Fish are only 2-5 in his last 7 starts as a road favorite. Meanwhile, Garland has been strong at home all season, going 5-2 with a 2.39 ERA. Plus, he is 4-1 (5-1 on the money line) with an ERA of only 2.01 in 6 career starts against Florida. Take the Padres at a nice price.

                        Free play

I'm scoring the FREE winner today on the Braves as they play the rubber match of a three-game series in Cincinnati against the Reds.

These two teams have split the first two games of this series and both desperately want the rubber match as they are both fighting for the top spot in their respective divisions. I’m backing the Braves in this one behind the right arm of Tommy Hanson (8-7, 3.99 ERA).

Atlanta has won three of four over the Reds this season and Hanson has been pitching very well lately, despite not getting much from his offense or his bullpen. He hasn’t allowed more than three earned runs in any of his last five outings, but the Braves have lost his last three. On Tuesday he went to Washington and held the Nationals to one earned run and struck out eight over six innings but the Braves fell 3-0. In four of his last five roadies, he’s allowed two runs or less.

Hanson would like to erase the memory of his May 20 start against these Reds when he lasted just 1.2 innings, allowing eight runs on eight hits. That is in far contrast to his start in Cincinnati last year when he blanked the Reds for six innings, allowing just three hits in a 7-0 Atlanta victory.

Edinson Volquez (1-1, 8.25 ERA) makes his fourth start since coming off the DL, and things haven’t been very good for him in the last two. On Tuesday in Milwaukee, Volquez gave up four runs in 3.2 innings, but his offense pounded the Brewers for a 12-4 win. His last home outing was July 22 when he gave up six runs in 2.1 innings of a 7-1 loss to the Nationals. He last faced Atlanta on April 24, 2009 when he had a strange pitching line, allowing three runs on one hit, striking out seven and walking seven in five innings of a 4-3 loss.

Atlanta is on positive streaks of 7-3 when Hanson gets four days off, 6-2 when he pitches on the road and 4-0 on the road against winning teams, plus as a team, the Braves are 22-9 against the N.L. Central and 38-14 as a favorite. Cincinnati is on slides of 1-6 on Sunday, 1-4 in the third game of a series and 1-5 as home ‘dogs, plus they are 2-6 in Volquez’s last eight home outings.

Hanson has been consistent for the Braves and Volquez is still trying to find his way since coming off the DL. I’ll take the Braves in this matchup.
