Analysis: The Angels did what they needed to do against Texas in winning that series 2-1, but now the real work has to be done. They've simply gotta win this series against Baltimore, and that means bouncing back off last night's loss and winning two straight. They aren't out of it yet, and with the money they spent at the deadline to sign guys like Haren and Callaspo, it'd be a big shock to see them give anything less than full effort.

Along side that effort will be Ervin Santana and his 2.73 road ERA this season. He's only given up 8 total runs in his last four starts totaling 29 innings. Ervin has had his troubles in Baltimore over the course of his career, but this is a guy that is in great form right now and he's facing up against a team that really doesn't have a lot to play for. There will be no excuses for anything less than a quality start.

On the other side, the O's send out the youngster, Brian Matusz. Matusz has shown signs of brilliance, but for whatever reason, simply cannot win at home. He's 0-7 at home this season, and after the O's sent away a few of their relievers at the deadline, it'll be interesting to see if he can get a win even WITH a lead. Unlikely.

Point is, the Angels flat out need W's right now. Santana is in good form, and they are facing one of the weakest teams in baseball, with a pitcher that is win-less in this park. It would be an embarrassment, and a signal that the Angels season is OVER if they lost this game today. Personally, I think they have one of the best managers in baseball, and I'm not ready to give up on em which is why I'm locking em in for 1.5 units!

Analysis: Kendrick is a feast or famine pitcher who is very good when on and really bad when off. He has gone 6+ innings and allowed 2ER or fewer in 9 different outings. In his 11 other starts he has a 8.73ERA. He has a lifetime 5.83ERA v Fla. He has a 5.15FIP (5th worst in MLB) and a 4.79xFIP (15th worst in MLB), along with a .266BABIP (15th "luckiest" in MLB) that lets us know that those numbers are hardly a fluke and that if anything, he has been fortunate to date. His 1.48 HR/9IP mark is the 7th worst in the majors, as well. Sanchez, meanwhile, has a 1.71ERA in his last 3 starts, including a complete game 1-hit shutout v SF last time on the mound. He has a 2.60ERA at home this season and gets to face a Phillies lineup that has no Ryan Howard or Chase Utley. With those two in the lineup over his last 4 v Phi, Sanchez has posted a 1.95ERA. Sanchez has a 3.35FIP (18th best in MLB) and 4.35xFIP, coupled w a .312BABIP that lets us know that FIP is legit. Plus, his 0.36 HR/9IP rate is the 3rd best in the big leagues, further mitigating the impact of the remaining Phillies bats. Kendrick's last 2 outings, both of which were stellar (though v a Rockies club mired in a losing streak and a Dbacks team that has trouble winning on the road, in general) has this line muted for us. It's our job to exploit that. This a very favorable price on the Marlins.

The Brewers have swpt 2 in a row here in Wriggley, but not today as Ryan Dempster OWNS the Brew Crew witnh as 13-3 record again then the last 16 games wuith under a 3 ERA. Look for the Cubbies at home to get a win and they should be very focused knowing Dempster will hold the Brew Crew at Bay and they aalso a weak southpaw starting whom ther Cubs shoulod be able to give Dempster plenty of run support
