SIDES
1.5-Unit Play. Take #917 Chicago White Sox (-135) over Cleveland (7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30)
Manny isn't going to make a difference in this game, but he could give the White Sox a bit of a jolt. The White Sox lost one yesterday but I'm going to get on board with them and I think that they will win this series in Cleveland, giving us a couple chances to score. Mark Buehrle has won four of his last five starts against the Tribe and has a huge edge over Mitch Talbot. Talbot is very hittable, and after some really lucky situations early in the year things are starting to even out for him.
1-Unit Play. Take #923 Texas (-1.5, -115) over Kansas City (8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30)
Just going to go with the hot team here. The Rangers won their last road series and they are 5-3 in their last eight games overall. And after losing two in a row they won't be complacent against a much weaker team. Rangers are 20-6 in C.J. Wilson's starts and the Royals are just 10-22 in their last 32 as a dog.
1-Unit Play. Take #925 L.A. Angels (-120) over Seattle (10 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30)
Ervin Santana kind of owns the A's and the Mariners, and he is 11-5 in his last 16 starts against the Mariners. Compare that with David Pauley, who has gotten lit recently while giving up 16 runs in his last 26 innings of work. I don't think that the Angels will roll over these last few months of the year, even though they aren't playing for anything.
0.5-Unit Play. Take #909 St. Louis (-120) over Houston (8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30)
St. Louis needs a change of scenery and a familiar opponent, and they get both in their trip to Houston. The Cards are 18-3 on Mondays and they are 49-21 in their last 70 series openers. J.A. Happ is in a killer letdown spot after his last start in Philadelphia and I think Houston has been playing above itself.
0.5-Unit Play. Take #922 Tampa Bay (-140) over Toronto (7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30)
This play should be bigger. The Rays have absolutely owned the Jays over the last few years, going 21-5 in the last 26 meetings at home. Tampa Bay is coming off a big win last night and they will avoid a letdown mainly because they didn't have to travel. Brett Cecil has beaten the Rays in his last two outings against them, but I don't see him winning three straight in the span of two months (and second win in about three weeks).
0.5-Unit Play. Take #904 Cincinnati (-155) over Milwaukee (7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30)
0.5-Unit Play. Take #902 Florida (-160) over Washington (7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 30)
