Game: Tampa Bay at Baltimore (1:35 PM Eastern)
Pick: Baltimore +1.5 runs +100 (runline)
The bad news for the Rays is that they have now fallen 2.5 games behind New York for the AL East lead. The good news is that they have a very comfortable 7.5 game lead over Boston for the wild card. Don't look now, but Baltimore is playing some decent baseball to end the season. They have won five of their last eight games with losses coming only from Tampa Bay and Boston. Their offense has picked up of late while the Ray's offense has taken a step back. Over the past two seasons, the Rays have produced a 42-59 mark on the run line on the road when the total is in this range (8.5 to 10). They are also 3-17 over that time span vs. the run line on the road after a game in which they allowed 8+ runs. I like Baltimore to avoid a blowout loss here.
Date: 9.5.10 at 8:05 PM
Game: San Francisco Giants vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Current Line: Los Angeles (-145)
Over/Under: 7
Play On: Los Angeles (-145)
Inside the Board Room:
Jonathan Sanchez will be the starting pitcher for the Giants on this day. Lefthander Sanchez is 9-8 this season with a 3.55 ERA. It'll be Hiroki Kuroda toeing the rubber for the Dodgers in this contest. Righthander Kuroda is 10-11 with a 3.39 ERA so far this season. Juan Uribe cracked a two-run homer and lifted the Giants to a 5-4 win over the Dodgers on Saturday, as +110 underdogs. That game's nine runs made it OVER the posted over/under (7.5) set by sportsbooks.
Take the Dogers tonight!
