I really like Navy in this game vs Maryland. I think this is going to be a pretty good Navy team who return starting Senior QB, R.Dobbs who set a school record last year with 27 TD's. Navy will once again be one of the best teams in the country running the football and expect them to run over Maryland here. Maryland was last in the ACC in rush defense and haven't done much to address this issue, the Terps are in trouble here. Navy is the play

The Broncos return this season with 23 of the 24 players. Expect their potent offense to be in charge in this battle, but I don’t believe they will blow away the Hokies. Virginia Tech tough defenses will be a challenge. Boise State is 10-3 ATS on the road in their last 13 games and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games. Look for Boise State to snatch a close victory against Virginia Tech tonight at FedEx Field.

At first glance, this would seem to be a series that sets up well for the first place Braves. After all, these two teams are at opposite ends of the Senior Circuit spectrum with Atlanta coming in at 79-58, one game ahead of the Phillies in the National League East, and the Pirates are 45-91, by far the worst mark in Major League Baseball. This will be the 18th consecutive non-winning season in Pittsburgh, a pro sports record for any one franchise. It's very rare that we would recommend a play on the Bucs, but the situation is favorable here at PNC Park. Atlanta's albatross all season has been their play away from Turner Field, as they are just 30-39 away from home, a fry cry from the club's NL best 49-19 home mark. The Braves are just 8-16 on the road vs. lefties TY and draw the Pirates' Brian Burres, who has a 2.03 ERA in two home starts so far. Pittsburgh has been a winning proposition at PNC Park when priced at +125 or higher (30-27), so they're definitely worth a shot here as they can catch Atlanta napping. This is especially true with Tommy Hanson heading to the bump for the Braves. Hanson has not won BB starts since June 5th as he'd gone 0-5 over an 11-start stretch beginning on July 3rd prior to a win last time out vs. the Mets. Atlanta comes off a rough series against the Marlins where we played against them in Sunday's series finale (L 7-6 in 10 innings) and with Philly now breathing down their neck we see the Tomahawks cracking under the pressure. Take Pittsburgh.

Maryland HC Friedgen has come under fire for his disastrous 2-10 season last year. Today, we'll look for the Terps to get out of the gate strong. When the Terps' expectations are at their lowest, they've done well. Few expect the Terps to make noise this season and even fewer expect them to beat Navy, a veteran team that is very confident coming off a big bowl win. Maryland, however, has had an adequate amount of time to scheme and practice vs the vaunted Navy triple-option. MD DC Don Brown, who was the former coach for U Mass in 2006 when the Minutemen held the explosive Midshipen to just 289 total yards in a 1 point defeat. We'll look for the Terps to play well disciplined assignment football and disrupt the timing of Navy's game. Of course, simulating a triple-option in practice is not the same as playing against an experienced well schooled option --such as Navy's; however, MD's defense can match Navy's speed, and with the extended prep can limit Navy's effectiveness. Navy is not used to playing the road favorite role and should have problems here.
