I went 3-0 on my selections in the NHL last night for a profit of 9 units. Let's try to continue that trend tonight with these selections:

Vancouver/Columbus Under 5 1/2 -1.13 (3 Unit Play)-These teams have been two of the worst defensive teams in the NHL so far as both have allowed 21 goals but they have two of the better goalies in net tonight as Roberto Luongo should be between the pipes for the Canucks and Pascal LeClaire should be in net for the Blue Jackets. These teams met four times last year and while the total was only 1-0-3 to the Under the total was set every time at 5 and I think because of the recent performances that this line is slightly high. This will be Vancouver's last game of a six game road trip and they would like to wrap it up with a victory. This looks to be a low scoring game to me.

Boston +1.67 (2 Unit Play)-This line seems high to me so I am making a small play on the Bruins here. These teams were very close last year and played a lot of one goal games and with the way the NHL is right now I will take a shot a team at nearly +1.70 that has a legitimate shot at a victory here tonight. Boston has played the much tougher schedule thus far and although they are off of a SO loss last night against Pittsburgh they played a very solid game. The Sabres have killed off all 24 power play opportunities thus far this season and things tend to even out over time. Look for the Bruins to win this evening.

Toronto +1.20 (3.5 Unit Play)-Anaheim travels for the first time out of the state of California tonight and have to travel all the way to Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs in the opener of a four game road trip. Anaheim has not played well at all this season and although they are taking on the Leafs here I am not sure they should be installed as road favorites, especially at this high of a price. They have arguably only played one good game this year and at 1-5 are probably happy they are hitting the road but you have to question the state of mind of the Ducks right now. The Leafs meanwhile have played pretty well considering that they were expected to be a bottom feeder this year and every game they will gain more confidence in playing in coach Ron Wilson's system. Vesa Toskala is in net for the Leafs tonight and he is off of a big shutout on the road against the Rangers. The Leafs look good to me as a home underdog this evening.

Those are my Tuesday NHL Selections and I will be back on Wednesday with more winning selections. Best of luck to everyone and enjoy the games. I am now 9-2 over the past four days on my NHL Selections for a profit of 21.84 units and I will continue to release them here for free until October 31st. The World Series is starting tomorrow and I have been hot in the MLB Playoffs as well. My thread is up in the service play area for all to see so check it out and then go to Procappers Network and sign up for an affordable package today. My buddy Stadium Club Sports has been outstanding in the NFL so far so check him out while at PCN as well.

Best of luck to everyone tonight.

            Temple -3 over Ohio
Both teams lost their starting QB's, but Temple might get DiMichele back tonight. Ohio lost their top running back to season ending surgery last week. Ohio is brutal inside of the redzone and points will be hard to come by. Temple has improved tremendously and has been in a ton of close games this season in which their record could be on the positive side. This Temple team has a bright coach who will turn this program around. Take the Owls at home

                          Ohio +3.0 (-110)
                          Tue Oct 21 '08 8:00p

The Ohio Bobcats and Temple Owls are two teams that are not accustomed to the national television spotlight, so at least these Tuesday ESPN games are giving the smaller schools some exposure.

That said, we would not trust wither of these 2-5 teams as favorites, making Ohio virtually an automatic selection as underdogs. This is not to say that the Bobcats do not have merit here for other reasons, as at least they enter this contest on a positive note after winning 26-19 on the road at Kent State last week.
The Bobcats also have a respectable offense, as they are averaging 23.9 points and 370.9 total yards per game, including 240.7 passing yards on a good 7.1 yards per pass attempt. Thus, they are capable of hitting a few big plays vs. a Temple defense that is not as good vs. the pass (6.7 yards per attempt) as it is vs. the run (3.7 yards per rush).
Comparatively, the Owls are only averaging 17.1 points and 266.6 total yards per game, and their offense has gone downhill since losing starting quarterback Adam DiMichele for the season. His backup, Chester Stewart, has been abysmal, completing just 50 percent of his passes while averaging a poor 4.94 yard per attempt, with seven interceptions vs. only four touchdown passes.
A healthier Ohio squad is simply the better team right now, so take the points even on the road here.

                          Ohio +3 (-110)

Game: Ohio at Temple Oct 21 2008 8:00PM
                            Prediction: under

Reason: Play Under Ohio U/Temple at 8:00 ET. Points have certainly been at a premium this year in Philadelphia! The Temple Owls come in averaging just 6.0 PPG at home this season while allowing just 9.5 PPG. Are you kidding me? Their two home games have resulted in 12-9 and 7-3 finals. And no one is going to confuse this OU with Oklahoma as the Bobcats average just 17.6 PPG outside of Athens, almost a full touchdown less than their season average. Temple is 11-1 Under at home coming off an ATS loss, a run that stretches all the way back to 1992. Take Under.
