I'm laying the points with Texas Tech on Saturday night. The Cougars have dropped three straight and still need a win to become bowl eligible. Texas Tech has six wins, but would like a 7th to ensure a bowl bid. I believe they'll get it here...by a wide margin. One of Houston's major problems of late has been the choices made by QB David Piland. The kid has a lot of talent, but he's young, and he's thrown six interceptions in the last two games. He'll also be the second best QB on the field in this one. Tech QB Tyler Potts leads the nation's 9th ranked passing offense. Potts takes care of the football with a 27-8 TD-INT mark. And his favorite WR, Lyle Leong goes unmatched in this one. They'll face a Houston defense that's equally bad against the run or the pass. The Cougars rank 99th in overall defense. They've allowed 217.3 yards rushing per game and 210.5 yards passing per contest, not to mention getting torched for 31.9 ppg. And not exactly against a murderer's row of opponents. Tech averages almost 310 yards passing per game and should have no trouble tearing through the Cougar defense. Texas Tech as been "money" in home finales, currently on a 22-3 SU, 19-5 ATS run. Meanwhile, Houston has covered just 2 of their last 11 as an underdog of 3 1/2 to 10 points. I'm laying the points with Texas Tech on Saturday night. Thanks! GL! Scott.
