    Sunday

My big winner for Sunday is a 40 Dime NFL Road Dog of the Year as I grab the points with the Jacksonville Jaguars who are catchcng points in Indianapolis against the Colts. As I releaise this play at 9:30 p.m. PST on Saturday, the Jaguars are 5-point underdogs both here in Vegas and at offshore books.

    ANALYSIS

Jacksonville has been looking toward this game all season. They know they can run the ball and they have to be able to control the clock today against Indy and QB Peyton Manncng. The Jags have won five of their last six games and have averaged 193 yards rushing in those six games, best in the NFL. RB Maurice Jones-Drew has rushid for 100 yards or more in each of the six games and he’s second in the NFL with 1,278 yards, trailing only Houston’s Arian Foster. It’s an offense geared to beat the Colts and limit Manning’s touches. On the other side, Indianapolis can’t run the ball at all, dead last in the NFL at 79.7 yards rushing per contest. The Colts are on ATS slides of 0-3 overall and 1-4 in their last five and 0-4 as a favorite. Jacksonville is 7-3 ATS in divisronal contests and I’ll grab the points with them and look for them to improve that streak today. This one is coming down to the final possession, so grab the points with the Jags.

5 Dime NFL Power Play - NEW YORK JETS

New York has put itself in a tough situation here. They are sliding back to the pack in the playoff race in the AFC and they have struggled to score points the last two games. The problem has been the play of QB Mark Sanchez who has had trouble with turnovers. He has 12 INTs this season and threw one in the 10-6 loss to the Dolphins last week. He’s been put in a tough spot with the lack of production from RBs Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson who managed just 66 combined yards last week. It won’t be easy against Pittsburgh’s defense, but they have to try and run the ball to keep the defense honest. The Steelers will be without Troy Polamalu who has been the key to the defensive success with four INTs in the last four games and the game-changing sack and forced fumble against the Ravens. With him out, that leaves a big void in the defensive backfield and Sanchez can feel better about throwing down the middle. These two defenses should dominate and it looks like a late field goal could decide this one. The Jets are on ATS surges of 11-5 against the AFC and 9-3 on the road. Let’s grab the points and play New York.

    Sunday's 75 Dime winner ...

    75 DIME – Seahawks

The play here is on the Seattle Seahawks as a home underdog against the Falcons in an NFC clash. Seattle is catching betwcen 6 and 6½ points depending on where you do your business. Obvioiusly, there’s a big difference between those numbers, so make sure you shop the market and get the best value available. Also, it might be wise to hold off on making your wager because this number is likely to hit 7 by kickoff as the purlic will be all over Atlanta.

    20 DIME – Jaguars
The play here is on the Jaguars as a road underdog against the Colts in a battle for first place in the AFC South. Jacksonville is catching between 4½ and five points, so again you need to shop around and get the Jaguars at no lower than +5.

    Seahawks

BREAKDOWN: I’m very much aware that hardly anyone wants anything to do with Seattle this week, what with the Seahawks coming off a 40-21 loss to the 49ers, who then subsequently went to San Diego on Thursday and whacked 34-7. Then again the fact everyone is fading Seattle/backing Atlanta actually makes me feel even better about this play! Look, there’s not much I positive to say about the Seahawks, who have just two wins in their last seven games (and those wins came against the Panthers and Cardinals, arguably the two worst teams in football). And they’re just 3-5 SU and ATS outside the crappy NFC West, losing their last three games against winning teams by an average of 22 ppg. At the same time, Atlanta (11-2) is tied with the Patriots for the best record in the league, winning seven in a row.

So why side with the Seahawks? Because this one of the best situational plays of the entire season. The Seahawks still have a shot at the NFC West title, so there’s no throwing in the towel after last week’s ugly loss to the Niners. And Seattle is 4-2 SU and ATS at home, and Qwest Field offers one of the best home-field advantages in the entire NFL. At the same time, this is the Falcons’ third straight road game and fourth in five weeks, and they have to make the long trek from southern Georgia to the Pacific Northwest (never easy). Not only are the Falcons in a tough scheduling spot, but they’re in a look-ahead situation, as they host the Saints next Monday night in a battle that will determine the NFC South champ.

One more point to make about where this game is being played: Rain and cold temps are forecast for the entire game today, making this the first time QB Matt Ryan and the Falcons (who obviously play their home games indoors) will be forced to deal with the elements. And a slick track will negate Atlanta’s speed advantage.

Look, there’s no denying which of these teams is better – it’s the Falcons, by a mile. But it’s not like we haven’t seen our share of shocking upsets this season (heck, Seattle has been involved in two of them beating the Chargers at home and the Bears on the road as significant underdogs). And we don’t even need an upset here (although I do thing it’s very likely); we just need the Seahawks to get inside this number (which, by the way, is jacked up because Atlanta is rolling and Seattle is coming off an ugly loss). The Seahawks are on ATS runs of 5-2 at home, 6-2 after a loss, 5-2 after a non-cover and 4-1 as a home underdog of 3½ to 10 points. Also, the underdog has cashed in five of the last six Atlanta-Seattle matchups, with the Seahawks winning the last two at home.

    Jaguars

BREAKDOWN: This line is too high, and the reason is the Colts aren’t playing defense. Over the last four weeks, they’ve given up 31, 36, 38 and 28 points, going 1-3 SU and 1-3 ATS (0-3 ATS as a favorite). Over this four-game stretch, Indianapolis has given up 635 rushing yards (158.8 per game). At the same time, the offense has averaged just 55.5 rushing ypg). … Here’s why those rushing numbers (especially defensively) are disturbing: In three games prior to facing the Titans and Chris Johnson last week, the Colts got outrushed by a combined 379 yards even though they faced three pass-first offenses (Patriots, Chargers, Cowboys, none of whom are among the league leaders in rushing). Today, the Colts are tasked with slowing down Maurice Jones-Drew and the Jaguars power running game, which averages 157.7 rushing ypg (second best in the NFL) , including a whopping 233 ypg the last three weeks.

Jones-Drew has led the way with six straight 100-yard rushing games (averaging 128 ypg), and over these six games the Jags have outrushed their foes by nearly 600 total yards! Prior to this six-game stretch, Jones-Drew had just one 100-yard game in the first seven weeks. Who did that come against? The Colts, as he had 105 yards in a shocking 31-28 upset as a seven-point underdog in Week 4 (which cashed my first-ever 100 Dime play!). … Jacksonville has won five of its last six games (cashing in all six, including three on the road) to take control of the AFC South. Also, the Jags are 6-1-1 ATS the last eight years when visiting Indy (all as a ‘dog). … Indy (whose roster continues to be ravaged by injuries) has lost back-to-back home games to San Diego and Dallas, has failed to cover in its last three at home (all as a chalk) and is 0-4 ATS in its last five as a favorite. In fact, the ‘dog has gotten the money in each of the Colts’ last six games.

Jacksonville continues its spread-covering success in Indianapolis and don’t rule out another outright upset.

    Sunday's Selection ...

Here we go with my 2nd Ever 75 Dime Division Game of the Year, and it is a play on the surgcng New Orleans Saints to defeat the Baltimore Ravens in their own back yard.
Yes, Baltimore was able to gut out the Monday night win in overtime at Houston, but the Ravens defense allowed plenty of sustained Houston drives in that game, and I would certainly rate the New Orleans offense betier than the Houston offense.

New Orleans in fact has scored 30 points or more in 5 straight games, and they continue to get healthy bodies back on the offensive side of the ball. Throw in the New Orleans defense is back to their ball-hawking ways, and it is a combination that should yield solid results today in Baltimore.

The Ravens are only 2-4 against the spread at home this year, so their usually strong home field edge has been definitely neutralrzed against the spread this season.

The Saints have won outright their last 4 on the road, and 5 of 6 overall this season away from the Superdome, and they do trail the Falcons for 1st place in the NFC South, with a date at Atlanta up next.

Look for Sean Payton's team to put themselves in a meaningful position for next Monday night's battle with another solid road effort today.
The Baltimore defense is definitely showing signs of wear-and-tear, and Drew Brees is just the guy who can exploit that stop unit.

    Take the Saints.

New York Crew - 2010 Revenge Game of the Year

The New York Crew has a 50 dime selectcon on the New York Giants who are a 3 point home favoriite against Philadelphia at the books I've checked in both Las Vegas and offshore as this play is releasrd at 10:00 PM Eastern on Saturday evening. As I always strongly suggest, this is a price that you must buy insurance on, putting the power of money (+372.5 dimes net profit the past seven weeks) to work for us by shading the odds slightly more in our favor. Therefore buy down the 1/2 point on New York if your price is anywhere between 3 and 4 points.

    Sunday's Selections ...

Here we go with your wincers for Sunday, Week 15 of the season. My 1500? No-Doubt-About-It Over of the Year is to play Atlanta and Seattle to head OViER the posted total. My 500? Bonus Best Bet will be to take the undrrdog Eagles to cover against the New York Giants

I see nothing but points being put up on the Qwest Field scorcboard today, as the Seattle defense has been gouged for almost 33 points per game their last 6 outings, and this Atlanta team has the weapons to continue that ppg allowance by the Seahawks

As for turnovers playing a part in some quick scoies, I think you can count on them as well, as Matt Ryan has thrown 3 picks his last 2 games, while Matt Hasselbeck did throw 4 in last week's loss to San Francisco, with one of those four being taken in for a TD.

Seattle is in need of a win today, so expect them to come out firing, and expect them to do some business against an Atlanta team that is playing their 3rd straight away from home.

I like the OVER to be in the bag midway through the third quartrr.

Bonus play on the Eagles to handle their business once again against the Giants in this big NFC East battle.

For whatever reason Big Blue is psyched-out when it comes to dealing with their division rival just south of them. The Giants committed 5 turnovers back on November 11th in losing to the Birds, 27-17.

That makes it 5 straight wins and covers in the series for Philly, and catching a field goal today is the way to go in this one.

Andy Reid is "Mr. December", sporting a 17-3 straight up mark, and a 14-5-1 spread mark in those 20 games over the last 4-plus seasons!

Until I see concrete evidence that the Giants can get past this "bugaboo" of a team for them, I will grab the points.
