Prediction: Georgia
Reason: I'm laying the points with Georgia on Friday. A couple of the best "go against" conference bowl situations come into account in this matchup. As dogs of less than seven points, Conf-USA entries came into this bowl season 3-17 SU and 4-16 ATS. If that's not bad enough, they also came into the bowl season with an 0-11 SU, 2-8-1 ATS mark against teams from BCS conferences. While all of that is interesting to note, most know that I don't base my plays on situations alone. The fact is, the Bulldogs cut loose on offense once WR A.J. Green returned from suspension, averaging 41 ppg over their final seven contests. This is a team that won five of their last seven games after a bad, 1-4 SU start, with their only losses coming in their rivalry game against Florida and to top-ranked Auburn. Meanwhile, I'm not crazy about the Central Florida offense and while I respect HC George O'Leary, I'd rather have Mark Richt on my sideline in a bowl game. O'Leary has lost all three bowl games at UCF, while Richt is 7-2 SU, 6-3 ATS. I'm laying the points with Georgia in the Liberty Bowl, my Bowl Knockout Game of the Month.

Going Under 40 points looks like the better play, as Clemson’s last 8 games have totaled 40 points or fewer and 7 South Florida’s 11 games against Division 1A teams totaled 40 points or less in regulation. My math projects just 34 ½ total points in this game and I’ll consider Under 40 points or higher a Strong Opinion (a lean at less than 40 points).
